Death and Destruction Lyrics
I can't say that you love me
So I cry and I'm hurting
Every time that I call you
You find some way to ditch me
So I'll learn to turn and look the other way
I'm so sad but I'll be strong
Because you can't bring me down
So I'll learn to turn and look the other way
So I cry and I'm hurting
You find some way to ditch me
Because you can't bring me down

This song was originally recorded as an instrumental, for those that are curious. I prefer the new version, I think the lyrics complement the guitar/drums very well.
i haven't listened to the new one enough to take a liking to it, so i'll just say that the instrumental version rocks.
this is an amazing weezer song ! i like it cause its alot slower kinda like butterfly ...just listen to the song and take a good listen to the lyrics.... i fell in love with it and if u dont theni dunno whats goin on . its obvious what this songs about and i am sure ppl can say that they have had something go on ni there life such as this
the gloomy days of the green album's reign has passed, and the kings of...well, whatever kind of music you classify weezer as, are back. joy.
I can't say i have ever heard the instrumental... but i absolutely love the new one... its awesome and has so much emotion in so little lyrics... its pretty extraordinary, but i guess you could just say, thats weezer.
and at the end rivers spells out I LOVE YOU. one of the best guitar solos ever, you know, that one note gets you
i hadnt noticed that at first, the I LOVE YOU, thing, but it is sooooo amazingly sweet!! i love weezer for that!
I can relate to this song so much, it's scary. I had this crush on this guy, for like a long time. He was a totally jackass though... "So I learned to turn/And look the other way".
I LOVE this song.. It kicks ass and it kind of comes close to the pinkerton emotion, sincerity an honesty
Both versions are great, although I think the instrumental was a little bit better. But then, that is just me. The lyrics are not really the classic example of weezeresque poetry, but that really seems to add to the song. I would kill for the piano arrangement that Rivers Cuomo wrote. It is such a pretty song.
