A Man Inside My Mouth Lyrics
I woke up at seven and my body was vibrating
I was wrapped up in a blanket
I was grey
Damp and sore
The bedroom was an engine and my heartbeat was erratic
(Like I think I'm at the racing
Like the night before)
I remember one girl standing
One was sitting on the ground
One was holding me up
The other pulling me down
And I couldn't decide which one was real
Because there wasn't a sound
(Like I was pregnant again... )
"Don't move don't blink don't think don't even breathe" she said
"Or the photograph will spoil
And cut you off at the head"
So I was sucking
I was sucking like a fat lady would
But I couldn't hold it down another second
(Bleagh!)
"Don't twitch don't shout don't think don't even breathe" she said
"Or the photograph will spoil and cut you off at the head"
So I was sweating
I was sweating like a fat lady would...
And I woke up
With a man inside my mouth
(This won't hurt at all... )
I was wrapped up in a blanket
I was grey
Damp and sore
The bedroom was an engine and my heartbeat was erratic
(Like I think I'm at the racing
Like the night before)
I remember one girl standing
One was sitting on the ground
One was holding me up
The other pulling me down
And I couldn't decide which one was real
Because there wasn't a sound
(Like I was pregnant again... )
"Or the photograph will spoil
And cut you off at the head"
So I was sucking
I was sucking like a fat lady would
But I couldn't hold it down another second
(Bleagh!)
"Don't twitch don't shout don't think don't even breathe" she said
"Or the photograph will spoil and cut you off at the head"
So I was sweating
I was sweating like a fat lady would...
And I woke up
With a man inside my mouth

Rob. Smith remarked that, "I liked that somg because it caused some controversy at the time. I played up to the weirder sexual aspects of the lyric...I realised it was going to be contentious, and I had fun with it!"
Well I think I understand the same concept and meaning that good ol 'Bob came up with. Exploding Girl, yeah, you're right, I also read that in "Join the Dots" and he said the man inside his mouth was like the stranger using his voice...like his conscience or something like that.
if you imagine the lyrics sung to an impressionatic, nightmarish film shot from the perspective of a man drugged and awoken in a disjointed, psychedelic, scary orgy, the song really works -- it's about being taken against one's will without realizing -- before it's too late
I love the drums, how they're slightly off. And Robert's squeals. It just adds to the (slightly disturbing) fun craziness of the song.
definatly not about robert giving a man oral sex. it's another drug induce dream. mostly of the psychedelic kind. that's the way acid is. one second you know what you're doing the next second you are in a situation that you have no idea how you arrived at that point. you can't even speak, your heart is racing and words come out of your mouth but they don't make sence to you. it's like theree is somone else in him speaking on his behalf. i don't think he woke up persay, he just came to the realization that he was in a situation that he didn't understand. the beatles are great at this. during "a day i the life" paul says "someone spoke and i fell into a dream" lsd is like that. one second everything is normal next second all hell is breaking lose. sounds like a good trip though
I have no idea what this song is about...but the lyrics are amazing! Robert Smith is such a strange and wonderful songwriter.
alright so whoever fucking wrote these lyrics. must be deaf, there so wrong.
sooo fucking wrong. im annoyed.
Uh sorry leavesmesour, but the lyrics as posted here are the same ones as those released by the band, so I'm pretty sure they would be the right ones, unless you know something the rest of us don't...
I agree that this is about a drug and sex binge. It seems pretty obvious. Even as an innocent 12 year old christian boy I managed to work that out.
Since then, I've had nights & mornings like the one described here...so it all makes common sense to me.
The real message of the song is an anti-drugs warning to irresponsible teenagers: "It may seem like fun, but how will you feel in the morning...?" haha.
I just want to say that idoubtthat is a legend. That was such an indepth analysis! Amazing! This song is so chilling and wrong that I love it!
kinky sex on drugs
