M Lyrics
They must mean business
To say there's nothing worse
Than to let your precious love child
Leave the planet first
Cause oh they've got to just let her go
All the things that you swear you're gonna do
Reservations on the next train to the moon
Pack your things Œcause there ain't no time to lose
And all the things you never
So I think we're gonna have to record her
Sometimes against her will
We're gonna keep her alive with black and whites
Colour moving and still
And then oh they've got to just let her go
All the things that you swear you're gonna do
Reservations on the next train to the moon
Pack your things Œcause there ain't no time to lose
Let her go
All the things that you swear you're gonna do
Reservations on the next train to the moon
Pack your things Œcause there ain't no time to lose
All the things that you swear you're gonna do
Reservations on the next train to the moon
Pack your things Œcause there ain't no time to lose
No time to lose
To say there's nothing worse
Than to let your precious love child
Leave the planet first
All the things that you swear you're gonna do
Reservations on the next train to the moon
Pack your things Œcause there ain't no time to lose
And all the things you never
Sometimes against her will
We're gonna keep her alive with black and whites
Colour moving and still
And then oh they've got to just let her go
Reservations on the next train to the moon
Pack your things Œcause there ain't no time to lose
Reservations on the next train to the moon
Pack your things Œcause there ain't no time to lose
Reservations on the next train to the moon
Pack your things Œcause there ain't no time to lose

Does anyone think that the title 'M' refers to the character from James Bond movies? I remember that in Tomorrow Never Dies, M's daughter betrays her, locking her up. Perhaps that's what the lines "Th say there's nothing worse|Thank to let your precious love child|Leave the planet first" refer to.
I dont think that Chantal is refering to anyone from Tomorrow Never Dies.... This Album was released in 2000, and Tomorrow Never Dies was a movie from 2002
"After the success of her first album, Chantal found herself conflicted with writer's block in the winter of 98/99. Then Chantal found her inspiration in a young girl named Mina, who was diagnosed with a terminal illness. For six months, Chantal found herself sharing the last days of Mina's life. She passed away in June of 1999. But Chantal let her live on through a beautiful song released on her sophomore album, Colour Moving and Still. The sixth track on the album was written for Mina, entitled M." from the biography of Chantal
my goodness. this song will never fade. i especially soak in the ending where she carries out "to the moon"....beautiful. mina must have been very special.
I can't believe she wrote ALL of the songs for Colour Moving and Still which includes this song.
Really good track.
