This Room Lyrics
No matter what we say,
no matter what we think,
we'll never, we'll never leave this room.
What are we going to do about this?
no matter what we think,
we'll never, we'll never leave this room.

This song is about life. You're trapped in the moment.
To me, this song is not about being trapped, but about action.
No matter what we SAY or THINK we're trapped, but what are we going to DO? Saying and thinking is all fine and dandy but doesn't do much unless we are willing to act upon those words and thoughts.
I see the room not just as the moment, but as the condition of life in general. We're stuck in this existence, one that can't be anything other than what it is. We're stuck in this life, trapped in the human condition, in a body that is dying.
I can't believe this album came out five years ago, almost six. It's so refreshing and wonderful...I really like herbivore's take on the song. I haven't given much thought to the lyrics because I've always been too engrossed in the beat
While I like herbivore's take on it, I think he might be over analysing it. I truly believe it's just about the feeling of being trapped in life, with a sort of paranoid, dreamlike feel. Then again, it's a song, so I think that anyone should be able to interpret it however they want
Maybe because i've been reading an unreasonable amount of existential literature, but maybe it's about being trapped in humanity. We have all these structures set up to understand the world, but what it comes down to always is that we're rational beings trapped in an irrational world, and no matter what we do, we'll never understand anything.
Maybe the same room as in "Pick Up The Phone." I think this is probably a useful metaphor for understanding Neon Golden as a whole. The circle on the cover is interesting to me, I think if it has any significance at all it's a concise expression of Markus Acher's worldview, implying the closed-off nature of a room and the endlessness of a loop. I would say if I had to sum up the lyrical theme of this album in one phrase it would be "trapped in endlessness."
This room, our material existence on earth. There is no afterlife, no heaven, no reincarnation, nothing. So the question is what are we going to do with the time we have here.
definitely the best song on an album of excellent songs.
i agree with the traped in the moment comment, also i believe it is feeling traped
