excess baggage to me is the memories of past drug abuse...which i think is the main point of the dysfuntion cd... this song seems like he is saying he has to live with the fact that he has done horrible things in his past but he hopes that his love will still love him... im going through the same kind of thing and thats the feeling i get from this song....especially the line when you look at my face does it seem just as ugly to you

i was just commenting on 'Bleed' by Cold, and this song also struck me as something of the same calibre. The lyrics may be straightforward, but when its sung by Aaron Lewis, it gives it a whole new sound, hauntingly beautiful...

Powerful song about being in a realtionship that hurts so bad, but you need the person so much. I feel this one.

I think its about being with someone you'd hate to be friends with or married to but you need them to survive. Its your only love you've manage to find and hate to lose

To me, this song is something that lies close to the heart. Not just cause Staind is my favorite, but because I can relate. In my eyes, this song is just about all the faults you see in yourself and all of the times that you just want to scream and yell, but you can't. Not in front of that one person. They seem just so beautiful in your eyes...their soul, their mind...and you don't want to ruin that by what you feel you hold inside. And although it's so hard at times to do, you know you have to. Everything that you know you've done wrong is darkened in their eyes for some reason, and you can't understand that. You can't see why they don't find you hideously dark. I know that other people out there had to have felt this some time. But it's something hard to let loose. That, or maybe Aaron Lewis is the only one that can put it into words so well.

If you hear this song and are not moved by it, you are dead. The first time I heard this I cried. It's scary how so many of Aaron's lyrics hit home for me.

This is an excellent song. Many people, including myself, can relate to this song. It is soft, pleasant, and has a good meaning to it. The only problem is that it is addictive, and if you listen to it too much, you will get so depressed that you kill yourself.

i love this song, it made me cry too its so sad what arrons been thorugh hes so lovely as well, Ive seen interviews with him and his wife and daughter hes great and a very strong and admirable guy who writes amazing songs XxxXX

Yet another emotionally provoking, tear jerking, utterly haunting, yet so beautiful song by Aarong lewis. I can definitely feel his music. Such sadness can only be expressed in music. I must thank you Aaron lewis for helping me be able to express the "shit" inside me through your music....
