Strong Enough To Break Lyrics
I don't feel myself today
Just a figure in a big monopoly game
Struggle is the price you pay
You get just enough just to give it away
I'm sinking but I'm floating away
Throw me a line so I can anchor my pain
The fabric is about to fray
The fabric is about to fray
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Oh, I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Been running through my mind today
Scenarios to add to your hypocrisy
No one ever takes the blame
But everyone is searching for a cure to the pain
Nothing ever seems to change
Oh, nothing ever seems to change
We just play like broken records in a deaf man's charade
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Oh, I start feeling I'm strong enough to break
Carry on just a pawn and the same old song
I'm still holding on
The fabric is about to fray
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Maybe you could take a look at yourself lately
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough
Things keep coming and I keep wondering
I start feeling the walls close in
Things keep coming and I keep stumbling
I start feeling I'm strong enough to break

I'm pretty sure Isaac is playing the mandolin.. And the radio version is the only version i've heard :)
"throw me a line so i can anchor my pain" is the best line on the cd in my opinion, i love it so much its even my screen name. its really clever... hanson never lets me down <3 there all around talented beautiful and write amazing lyrics.
It is definitely about breaking away from the record label they were on. If you watch the documentary "Strong Enough to Break" It shows the struggle they went through with the company. They kept submitting new songs and the guy kept telling them they were no good. So they had to keep writing songs and try again. Thats where the whole "We just play like broken records in a deaf man's charade" part comes in. And I honestly loved all the songs that stupid guy dissed. I'm proud of them for breaking away from Island Def Jam. I've been a huge fan since MMMBop and always will be.
I love Hanson, but if these are the real lyrics, they can write a bit juvenile stuff. Monopoly?? hmmm.... but i do love this songs sound.
you're fucking retarded yo
you're fucking retarded yo
i love this song
heck, i love all of hanson's songs...
this song is perty dern good... the lyrics are screwy though... which is just fine with me cause the awesome music makes up for that. who's playing the mandolin in this song? it's FANTASTIC. well, i haven't heard a lot of mandolin playing... soo don't really have anything to base it on... but it sounds good to me. shrug i REALY hope this is the direction the new album is going cause if i hear more shit like "wake up" and less like this song... oh man... is there only one version of this song? the live radio one? what radio show are they playing on? too many questions...
why doesn't ANYONE respond here?
THANK YOU
I think this song is about how much it sucks to be a corporate pawn. The whole "just a little figure in a big monopoly game" I think refers more to companies vying for a monopoly in the marketplace than to the game. I think the lyrics are pretty damn deep actually.
This song is about them splitting with Island Def Jam, I think. After I heard that, this song really clicked for me. I guess after the VH1 special I get it.
