Media Person Lyrics
Green to feel blue?
Is your vision purely golden?
Is your humour black or olden?
Do you find you're getting yellow?
'Though you know you're in the red dread
Red dread red dread red dread red dread red dread red
I'm your media friend
Transparent so close friend
Are you green to feel blue?
Is your vision purely golden?
Is your humour black or olden?
Do you find you're getting yellow?
'Though you know you're in the red dread
Red dread red dread red
I'm your media friend
Around the clock religion
Green to feel blue?
Is your vision purely golden?
Is your humour black or olden?
Do you find you're getting yellow?
'Though you know you're in the red dread
Red dread red dread red dread red dread red dread red
I'm your media friend
With you to the rainbow end
Green to feel blue
Is your vision purely golden?
Is your humour black or olden?
Do you find you're getting yellow?
'Though you know you're in the red dread
Red dread red dread red dread red dread red dread red
Transparent so close friend
Is your vision purely golden?
Is your humour black or olden?
Do you find you're getting yellow?
'Though you know you're in the red dread
Red dread red dread red
Around the clock religion
Is your vision purely golden?
Is your humour black or olden?
Do you find you're getting yellow?
'Though you know you're in the red dread
Red dread red dread red dread red dread red dread red
With you to the rainbow end
Green to feel blue

i just feel that somone needed to comment on this great band.
what a way to start off a fucking cd.
the whole song and rhyming structure reminds me of mother goose.
this song is really good. when Nick Blinko sings you can feel his rage. RP plays with their raw emotion and this song is a perfect example of that.
This song is obviously about the media and i think Blinko is saying the media tells you how to think but most of it is meaningless crap. I dunno, just a guess.
i kind of get this song, yet i dont,.. obviously it is about the media, but it isnt? anyways i think its about the media trying to gain your trust out of everything it can and brainwash you, as though the media was a real person just fooling who ever is dumb enough to listen to all the lies it feeds you... well thats what i think at least
I believe this song is structured like a want ad to people who want to either want to be on TV, or just simply watch TV. I think the inspiration for this song was how people believe that the media is their friend. It offers them a substitute for a normal relationship by making them feel like they have shared something with someone else when they watch a program. Blinko calls the "media friend" a "transparent so close friend" because it isn't a real friend, but it becomes like a substitute friend for the lonely people who feel the need to constantly be watching TV.
The green to feel blue represents the media offering you money to feel sad, like what happens when people go on day time talk shows.
Everything is pretty much self explanatory if you use my method to look at it.

Very obviously about TV....
Red, Green and Blue are the colours that make up your TV screen...he uses these words a lot in the song!
Is your vision purely golden? Ever hear the phrase "golden oldie's"... is your humour black and golden..a continuation of golden oldies, old black and white TV comedy...."do you find you're getting yellow" black and white TV used to display some colours as yellow because of the way the colours difused...then onto the red
RGB or BW...same old shit. TV. But a friend to most people...
The song Media Person has many layers of meaning to me.
When I first heard it two years ago in CA it reminded me of a mash-up deconstruction of Michael Jackson's Billy Jean versus Princes Erotic City. In fact they all work well together in a set if a spinner is so inclined.
As fore mentioned by others on this string there is something about Media Person that speaks to the randomness of the media world - perhaps TV and internet as a serogate spiritual realities of sorts.
I just like the chaos of the glossolalia which sets well with the cling-clang bump and grind.
