A Night To Remember Lyrics
I look out my window
Into the pouring rain
I wish i could tell you
That I stopped hearing your name
And then I realize every thought of you
Runs a circle around my heart
I hear your voice haunting me
I feel your touch in the dark
It was a night to remember
All your kjisses I still taste
It was a night to remember
Can't forget the look on your face
It was a night
Starlight send a message
Like a beacon into the night
To tell you I'm lonely
When i shut out the light
Because a part of me left with you
So i feel lost inside
Sometimes i look into my mirror
I see you shining through my eyes
It was a night to remember
All your kjisses I still taste
It was a night to remember
Can't forget the look on your face
It was a night to remember
All these feelings i can't erase
From my heart
Endless dreams
Around my shoulders
I cannot free this restless heart
It was a night to remember
...Not enough time for you to stay
...Can't forget the look on your face
Into the pouring rain
I wish i could tell you
That I stopped hearing your name
And then I realize every thought of you
Runs a circle around my heart
I hear your voice haunting me
I feel your touch in the dark
All your kjisses I still taste
It was a night to remember
Can't forget the look on your face
It was a night
Like a beacon into the night
To tell you I'm lonely
When i shut out the light
Because a part of me left with you
So i feel lost inside
Sometimes i look into my mirror
I see you shining through my eyes
All your kjisses I still taste
It was a night to remember
Can't forget the look on your face
It was a night to remember
All these feelings i can't erase
From my heart
Around my shoulders
I cannot free this restless heart
...Not enough time for you to stay
...Can't forget the look on your face

Too bad nobody commented on this hidden gem. I first heard this song many years after high school, yet when I heard it, the first thing I thought of was my first "true" love, and how I had to leave him behind when I graduated. His father didn't approve of us being together, my parents objected because his parents objected, and, since I was two years older than him, once I left high school there was no viable way we could be together. But I'll always remember our last time together, and the fun(and not so fun)times we had together, and this song always makes me spare a thought to him, all these years later. One of Lauper's best songs, especially since it's not being sung in the usual squeaky-high register we've come to know and love from her over the years.
@lanakael Yes, this song didn't get much time; I don't even remember it released as a single (even though the CD was A Night to Remember) because they really pushed "I Drove All Night" when the CD came out. But it hits me hard now especially ...Starlight send a message like a beacon into the nights a message. I miss her.
