I guess when we have a bad life we try to move on but we can't and think live never goes on. It does, but it doesn't seem like it. Just a frame of mind. The words are empty because time defines life in some way. They want to escape the pressure of moving on from the still picture but can't. They're used to giving up too easily.
This is something when you feel after the one walks out from the backdoor of your life, they say life goes on, but means nothing to you, you just feel damn bad. Another frame of mind
