Collective Dreamwish of Upperclass Elegance Lyrics
Here I sit and play guitar
And drink beer out in the country
Having narrowly escaped my trip
Into town, now it's Sunday.
So here I sit and play guitar
Count stars out in the country
Having narrowly escaped my trip
Into town, now there's no one around.
Here I sit and play guitar
And drink beer out in the country
Having narrowly escaped my trip
Into town, now it's Sunday.
Yeah, so here I sit and play guitar
Count stars out in the country
Having narrowly escaped my trip
Into town, now there's no one around.
And drink beer out in the country
Having narrowly escaped my trip
Into town, now it's Sunday.
Count stars out in the country
Having narrowly escaped my trip
Into town, now there's no one around.
And drink beer out in the country
Having narrowly escaped my trip
Into town, now it's Sunday.
Count stars out in the country
Having narrowly escaped my trip
Into town, now there's no one around.

A masterpiece. Really, I don't usually throw words like that around. The whoosh-whoosh sound is particularly atmospheric.
I love how it's about isolation and enjoying your own self. Simply effin' beautiful. It's hard to believe these guys didn't make it huge. Hail Lytle.
This song is so great! Lyrics are plain and simple. You can tell from this song and a few others how much Grandaddy really appreciate the simple Country life. I guess everyone out there can relate to just wanting to get back home to a place they feel comfortable. I think it's great the way Jason pushes this topic and speaks so passionately of a lifestyle so many average city folk would resent, living out in the middle of nowhere. I wonder if others in Modesto feel this strongly about this town.
