Sticks And Stones Never Made Sense Lyrics
thought that i would
shove everything aside
to shake your hand
barbed wire wouldnt come fast enough
why does your name leave a bad taste in my mouth
when it rolls off my tongue
in your world excuses mean everything
stitch me for days because
i keep splitting
myself for you
why does your face seem better on the floor
have you thought about death today
ask me ill help
you never knew me
these are my last words
not that it matters anymore
shove everything aside
to shake your hand
barbed wire wouldnt come fast enough
why does your name leave a bad taste in my mouth
when it rolls off my tongue
in your world excuses mean everything
stitch me for days because
i keep splitting
myself for you
why does your face seem better on the floor
have you thought about death today
ask me ill help
you never knew me
these are my last words
not that it matters anymore

I think this song isn't about relationships and girls that fuck around. That's what it kinda means to me, but, I think it's about a hero he might have had "thought that i would shove everything aside to shake your hand" Pushing through a crowd just to, well, shake his/her hand. "in your world excuses mean everything" the person he idolises making excuses to not see him. "i keep splitting myself for you" He keeps putting time aside to try and get close to this person. "you never knew me" because they never gave the chance. "these are my last words not that it matters anymore" He just gives up hope on them after telling them how he feels. Of course, I could be completely mistaken, but I was reading the lyrics, and that idea just popped out at me. It's more to do with girls etc. to me though.
I Love the sound of the chorus compared to the verses in this song, the way there's a pause with just the reverb of the snare before the chorus starts, so amazing. And the title; one of the first things I noticed about PTW was the titles, they're so imaginitive and true if you read into them. But seriously (not saying I wasn't serious before), the phrase "Sticks and stones..." really DOESN'T make sense.
Sorry about that amazingly long comment. I think I was probably wrong about the meaning of the song anyway, but I thought I might as well put it out there =)
This song compliments my ex-girlfriend... she's an easy skank, so if any of you out there want to get a piece, reply to this and i'll give you her screen name... she's easy as hell and will probably put out within the first 10 mins. she's with you! "Why does your face seem better on the floor..." Ya, fuck off bitch... die, i hope you fucking die...
I have a girlfriend like that too, not all that easy, but her face does seem better on the floor.
I can totally relate this song because it is the way I feel about some people in my life.
this is the way i feel about some people in my life also, and girlfriends. blah blah blah. this is my song dedicated to them, rock on poison the well!
poison the wells whats her s/n. email it to me brodybro17@aol.com

Haha, harsh indeed. Fuckin skanks, why don't they ever let us know the way they are before they get you all involved?
is he saying the same thing in the version on the Throwdown split???
"have you thought about death today ask me ill help" genius.
