Let me state for the record i do love poison the well. I can understand why you would say he doesnt exist, i fully understand, ive felt it before. Plese dont think im being high and mighty, i just hate to see blame cast where it isnt due. Anyone can sit around all day and blame nazi's for racism, but the fact is it's not their fault, its the darkness of the human soul, some people fight it and realise... and some people roll with it. Thats why a lot of people stinke out at God, because they know nothing of him but a cold and destructive church.
i agree with timo fully....god gave us FREE WILL because he loves us so much. The right to do what we want, and the natural reaction is that we HAVE to suffer the consequences. That's life. Deal with it. MOST of the bad shit that happens to us is because man has deserved it through one way or another. It doesn't matter if it was you or some dick on the other side of the country, that's the way things work. The fact that so many people are ignorant about Christianity or God is what gives God a bad name. Also the fact that God works in mysterious ways, and although he is the creator, he doesn't force anything upon us.
its kind of STUPID to say that somebody's god does not exist. you cannot prove he doesn't exist. it's all about faith. if you don't have faith and believe in nothing than that's your thing. nobody can prove that he exists, at least not to anybody but themselves. besides you can't blame god for shit half of the stuff that goes on in this earth is because of humans - we are not god's robots or puppets. he gave us free will and look what we've done with it: rape, murder, child molestation - parents forcing their 10 year old kids to have sex on video tape and putting it on the net - I heard about this on the news last night. god is not responsible for any of that shit. it's man. I haven't read those sites yet, but I will, I am just posting this as an imediate answer to your question "how did your god come into existance?".
I don't believe that God "came into" existance. I believe that he has existed forever. This seems an insane concept, and one which I don't believe the human mind is equiped to imagine because all we have ever known is finite, having a definite begining and an end.
At one point, the smartest minds thought the world was flat. Science is ever-evolving. What the greatest minds hold true right now, may be laughed at as archaic and lacking vision, in years to come.
"You ask how can a universe come from nothing, I say that after a long interval of time enough particles have formed to make up what we have now." - That wasn't exactly what I meant, I didn't mean, how could it all come together to form a universe, I mean, where did it come from in the first place and what 'set the ball rolling', so to speak. Regardless of whether or not you accept the notion of God, there must have been some external force, which set it all in motion, I just cannot accept the idea that it just happened for no reason. Assuming that Sub-atomic particles do come from from nothing, again I ask, what causes them to come into existance? (This idea seems as crazy to me as my idea of God probably seems to you.)
I also have trouble believing that a universe in which everything follows an order begins with a random act, it seems to run in opposition to itself.
I understand your argument, but your notion of "God" is different to mine. I believe that the concept of time, is all part of the universe he created. I believe that God has always been there, there was nothing before him and he did not occupy 'space' as we understand it, he was just all that there was, until he created the universe, and in the process, created time and space as we understand it.
You said, that the notion of an ever present God, makes no sense to you, that you can not accept the idea that something could always have been there (I think this was what you meant, correct me if I am wrong) but in the same way, your idea that before our universe, there was nothing, no time or space or anything seems equally absurd. If our universe began in the way you suggest, why did it not begin sooner? I just cannot accept that something can come from nothing. Science follows the principle that energy can but never be destroyed and never be created, it can only change form, yet the idea that sub-atomic particles can simply come from nothing seems to be contradictory to this rule.
While science can offer many things, it cannot disprove the existance of God.

I like this band's old stuff..before they turned to crap punk, BUT, these lyrics are stupid. They are horribly wrong, and some day, probably soon, they will realize that this song is wrong.
