I think the lyrics are the bad messages that people play in their own heads. You know those negative thoughts you have over and over again? I think that he was just vocalizing one of the internal tapes he has playing in his head.

I hate people who blurt out nonsense like a couple idiots have above--like you're a moron if you don't know what this song means, or it's not worth it... Because despite that idiotic opinion, people have offered good ideas above.
I have no idea if this is supposed to be what Chad heard as a kid, what some people in general hear during their development, or if it's what we sometimes say to ourselves. I always heard my own father when I listened, but I like the suggestion that it's what we tell ourselves.
I've also always thought it was weird the way he sang the part that's supposedly "motherfucking". He is saying that, but I know he can sing better than that. (He's definitely not saying "another"; listen at 00:25 or 00:43 when there are no drums drowning him out.)
I also don't think the people in the background are laughing. It sounds like talking and shouting to me.

ok this may sound really fucking stupid, but what i think the song is about is either how kuds family thought he was worthless since he was really young or how people can hate without even knowing who the person thewy hate really is. its not really a song but thats the idea i get from the track.
I think it's about parents saying the above to a child because they have no faith in him at all.
