Locust Star Lyrics

Rise

Shining black scars burns way down
It parts from the serpent view
Cast stones where to stop calling you

(Stick him) They all lower me to the ground
(Stick him) They all lower me to the soil

Star reign down on you
Star reign down on you

You'll starve

Bright star in the dripping sun writhe on
Saints steal from your sctions
Step in right on its function

(Stick him) They all lower me to the ground
(Stick him) They all lower me to the soil

Star reign down on you
Star reign down on you

The will to power
Anscension manifest
That which is above(you all lower me)
Is as that which is below(you all lower me)
That which is below(you all lower me)
Is as that which is above(you all lower me)
Thy will be done (Christ shine blinds your world)
Thy kingdom come(your beleif is scars)
On Earth as in Heaven(Christ shine blinds your world)
So mote it be(your beleif is scars)

I think this song is about that this guy that will go to hell, not because god will send him there, but all the people who believe in god will. Example: the phrase "you all lower me". It means that they believe he is an evil man because he goes against god, so therefor that makes him an evil man and he will burn in hell just for what others believe. So when he says "your belief is scars", he's saying that it is scars to them but that they're belief in scars to them. This is just what it means to me. It may mean something different.

I don't think it's about a guy going to hell, per say, but more of a general suppression of a man who believes in his greatness/superiority over those around him, possibly due to a religious element.

Maybe it's about a repetition of the same story about some guy who determines the path of many because he has many scars. And every new scar shines brightly because pain people do understand. But our true path is determined by stars("stars reign down on you"). I see this in lyrics though I don't understand it as any neurosis text.

The first thing, of course, is that this is not anti-religious. Neurosis believe, even if they don't show it as much as they do here most of the time.

Locust Star has a rather abstract meaning, as it is part of the story of Through Silver in Blood. Taken as a song, it would be about a man who is misled by religious cults, who do not truly believe in God and are choking the true faith.

"Christ's shine blinds your world / your belief is scars"

The way you believe is destroying you; you are so crazed with your faith that you take it overboard and become like a Jihadist. That's a message that everyone needs to know nowadays!

And on the side, you don't know heavy until you've heard 2:11!

This is the song that got me on to Neurosis

Judging by their live performances of the song, I think they mean what they say.

My Interpretation

1000% agree. Other commenter want to think they are mocking someone or something else. But no, I think this is sincere
