Suffer In Silence Lyrics
I know I mess things up
by turning gold to stone
because of my free will
I lied about it all the way
I need to forget and make this tragic feeling go away
(I never heard a word
a word of what you said)
I never heard a word
a word of what you said
Too busy beeing selfish
I never learned the rules of life
Yes I do confess
I licked you in the eyes
I need you to forgive and make this tragic feeling go away
I know I lost
please let me suffer in silence
I've said enough
please help me hide from the ghosts
from my past
for a while
by turning gold to stone
because of my free will
I lied about it all the way
I need to forget and make this tragic feeling go away
a word of what you said)
I never heard a word
a word of what you said
Too busy beeing selfish
I never learned the rules of life
I licked you in the eyes
I need you to forgive and make this tragic feeling go away
please let me suffer in silence
I've said enough
please help me hide from the ghosts
from my past
for a while

I gotta say something about the third passage. It's tricky because of his accent, but it makes a little more sense this way:
It's time to confess, And look you in the eyes. I need you to forgive, And make this tragic feeling go away.
I'm with you on your interpretation of what the lyrics really are. I licked you in the eyes doesnt really fit with this song.
My thoughts on this song: This is the ballad of a screw-up coming to terms. He knows he's screwed up, and he just wants to be left alone, as opposed to having his face rubbed in it.
I love this song, because it quite accurately describes my relationship to the one person in my life who means the most to me.
Screwed up, I know.
But licking eyes is so much more fun than looking into them ;-)
"I licked you in the eyes" shall be "I look you in the eyes", Stephan is from Norway you know ;)
It certainly turns the situation a little more awkward.
