This song seems like it's talking about people and how they only care about the now.. I think it is completly true we are breathing in the fumes of our own machines pollution is ridiculous and the general population doesn't care abou it they just want to see what preety and they don't even realize they are destroying it and themselves at the same time. absolutly obsurd
thrice is the shiznit, all i can sa is everysong is well written and is deep, put that and extremely good instrumentals and vocals together and u get thrice.

this song is about how we've thrown away our faith and lost in this modern world where we find no meaning and simply try to explain what we know (reference to Nietzche) and how every once in a while we get a glimpse that there is something more to life and we convince ourselves its only a lie

when something is lost another thing is gained sometimes there is something to be gained in losing something to be lost in gaining intelligence is deadly when tainted by ignorance mix truth with lies and you can make people believe anything

beautiful song...just like the whole cd..except track number 10,i dont really like that one.but thrice is genius and its good to have a local band getting really known!so true about society now adays also

ok, this hasn't really got anything to do with the song itself; but has anyone got any idea how the dutch words "uitrit dag en nacht vrijlaten" ended up in the artwork between these lyrics in the lyricsheet??? There are also some dutch words between the lyrics of "see you in the shallows": "...e is een kaketoe".
I'm from belgium, so was kinda surprised when i saw those words in my language, but it made me wonder how they got there. I already tried to email thrice, but i didn't get an answer yet :( Thought maybe one of you guys could tell me...
