Darky Lyrics

Give it up smooth
Stick then I move
Tryin' to make sense outta of nonsense
Fool
Trippin' on life and my situation
Brothers of earth
One love-one & 1 nation
I hear the voices callin' me
The choices I made were mine
And I don't mind
I rise to the top like cream
Like the Phoenix from the blunt ash
Realizin' my dreams
Kissin' the pacific sky
The purple haze brain remain open
To changin' tides
I desire knowledge by nature
Word to Aristotle
My nature's not to hate ya
So I try to put myself in the Chucks of the other man
Peace to my brother
Search out my pace in this
World I discover man
Damn, check out the colors man
My eyes are man
My eyes are opening wide
My eyes are open
I see it everyday
But some things never change-no
Some people livin' in fear
Not knowin' about the ten dimensions
The (hed) nigga reach the point of awakening
I annihilate nigga who be thinkin' that they can break me
The next brother can do what they want to
This brother's sites are wide and true
If a stupid punk sweat me
The trick ass bitch'll wish
He never met me
So be warned my scorn is what you saw there
Be down or be gone
Let's get it on there
Turn of the century
Age of the microwave
One foot on the moon
But, you can see it gettin' better
Believe it
Young people sayin' "they ain't havin' it"
So? they takin'
They breakin's
They tired of the status quo
Fittin' to rape yo'
Their eyes are open
The windows are wide and far
So what the f...
Where you goin'
Where you been
Where you at
If I drop the bomb
Pick it up...
That sexy little girl
She had no father figure
The Catholic skirt
Put a hurtin' on the father's *?$*#
Table dances-they don't cum cheap
Dee-eye-see-kaye
Spells "relief"
Bring all your daughter to me
I was a just kid
I was just living
It never ocurred to me that
Skin could determine identity
I was naive you see
Don't givaf...
Never did never will
My eyes are open wide
Pack skillz then move in for the kill

The song meaning is about, at least at parts, racism. Lines like "It never occured to me that skin could determine identity" and then going onto singing "I don't give a ****, never did never will" is his way of stating that skin color shouldn't matter.

On a side note, if you haven't heard this song yet, listen to it. It is, in my opinion, (hed)pe's best song, and the lyrics alone don't do it justice.

it doesnt matter what skin colour he/they are, this is a very good song, second only to ken2012 from the first album. hedpe have done some awesome songs, particularly off the 'broke' album. I give this song 4 out of 5.

This song is all about skin color determining a person's identity and how he rebels against that stereotype because as he says, "The choices I made were mine! And I don't mind I rise to the top like cream!" (contrasting the white of cream with the black of his skin) MCUD's lyrics continue to amaze me...oh yeah, and on a side note, the first time I saw them live, he pointed at me for the "sexy little girl" part, great memory for me... And he also mentions the anger of black youth... "Young people sayin' "they ain't havin' it" So? they takin' shit They breakin' shit They tired of the status quo Fittin' to rape yo' shit!" He's explaining that all of their ignorant actions like rape and riots come from anger and an inability to express it in an artistic way, like he has his music

@GoAskAlice I think it's a little presumptuous to assume he's referring to black youth only. The word rape is used pretty liberally in heavy music from the era this album dropped and it almost never meant anything sexual. You clearly do gaf and I hope you don't always.

about the skin determining identity. it may very well relate to the fact that the people who lead our country and society are extreme racists. and their way of preventing us from discovering all of their lies is to keep us distracted. we have all been divided into different classes and stereotypes, and we all fight each other because of it, instead of fighting them.

if you use an equalizer to raise the frequencies around 700hz during the part where he sings The windows are wide and far, you can clearly hear, the windows are INFLUENCING YOU.

hed pe will open your eyes to the truth, all three of them.

@codycurth Oh yep...

Wow, you are deep!

Lines like "It never occured to me that skin could determine identity" and then going onto singing "I don't give a ****, never did never will" is his way of stating that skin color shouldn't matter.

"His way?" What deep lyrics! He just comes out and says it.

@bizarre so what you're saying is...in short anyways...you're a dick? What the hell was the point of even replying to him?

u guys are right. ive heard that jahred has said that growing up as a half black/half brazilian kid and being the only kid of color in his school inspired his thoughts and feelings conveyed in this song.

I think "Darky" was the nickname given to him by the other kids in school because of him being the only black kid in school. not sure though.

P.s: it's "One foot in the moon, one foot in a cave"

@B12 On the moon and why do you think that? Just a theory based on...?

@B12 let it go bro you were 16 years late 🤦🤦🤦

Welp after replying to/borderline trolling the dumb, my opinion is that the meaning is fairly apparent. Yeah. It's about racism, growing up not white and not only being a late bloomer realizing that it mattered but still not falling for it and making it a personal virtue as I've read here in the comments. Reverse racism is still racism and not a logic MCUD practices. Need proof? Look at the other band members. Anyways, yeah, great tune and yeah KEN 2012, Serpent Boy and P.O.S. all great too IMO.
