Perfect Lyrics
Lately I've noticed
How much you've changed
Even though you swear
You're the same
So why do I feel
A million miles away?
Why do I feel
Like we're broken?
(Chorus)(x2)
Why can't it be
Perfect like it used to be?
Why can't we be
Perfect?
Perfect is how I
Once described our love
But that was before
We fell apart
So why do I feel
A million miles away?
Why do I feel
Like we're broken?
(Chorus)(x2)
It used to be perfect (x3)
Lately I've noticed
How much you've changed
Even though you swear
You're the same
(Chorus)(x2)
It used to be perfect (x10)
How much you've changed
Even though you swear
You're the same
So why do I feel
A million miles away?
Why do I feel
Like we're broken?
Why can't it be
Perfect like it used to be?
Why can't we be
Perfect?
Once described our love
But that was before
We fell apart
A million miles away?
Why do I feel
Like we're broken?
How much you've changed
Even though you swear
You're the same

to me, this is about someone thinking about how things have gone wrong with their significant other... and how they wish everything could go back to the way they were. When they were with that person, everything was, well, perfect.
sounds familiar.
This song reminds me of stabbing westward, back when the lead singer didnt write about love and shit. Perfect like it used to be. I mean while the new album is good and all if ur in the kinda mood to listen to music like this but when i think stabbing westward i think save yourself.
this song actually means a lot to me.... when me and my boyfriend were having problems i put it in my cd player and it calmed me down a little it's true though not everthing is perfect forever and you just wish you could go back to that place in time and change it but you can't... you have to deal with it and if it was really perfect it will come back!!!!!
change
definitly the worst stabbing westward song ever...It's to soft, and studies show that 99.9999999% of people like the older, more hard stabbing westward sound.
althought it's still a good song, it's there worst. which says alot about stabbing westward.
correct me if im wrong but i seem to remeber somewhere along the lines someone saying "Variety is the spice of life" i hate how people differentiate between the "old" SW and the "soft" SW, its the same band, they both have ups and downs and this is definately one of their better songs, i cant see how someone could say its their worst a lot of the songs on their first cant touch the depth of this song
Christopher Hall even said he hated this song!
and most of the song off of Ungod are sooo much better than this.
why not just have an open mind about this song? i love the softness of it because i can appreciate his beautiful voice and relate to the lyrics, no matter how simplified they may be. just knowing that this band has MANY other great songs is good enough for me.
