Next to Last Song Lyrics
Dear Gene, of course you are here
And now it's nothing to fear
Oooh, I should have known
Oooh, I was never alone
This isn't the last song
There is no violin
The choir is so quiet
And noone takes a spin
This is the next to last song
And that's all, all
Remember what I have said
Remember, wrap up the bread
Do this, do that, make your bed
This isn't the last song
There is no violin
The choir is quiet
And noone takes a spin
This is the next to last song
And that's all ...
And now it's nothing to fear
Oooh, I should have known
Oooh, I was never alone
This isn't the last song
There is no violin
The choir is so quiet
And noone takes a spin
This is the next to last song
And that's all, all
Remember what I have said
Remember, wrap up the bread
Do this, do that, make your bed
This isn't the last song
There is no violin
The choir is quiet
And noone takes a spin
This is the next to last song
And that's all ...

This is the saddest song I have ever heard in my entire life. Very sad. I love it but I can't bear to listen to it because I don't really like sad things that much.
this IS the saddest song of all time.
:( so sad... but it's amazing...
So far everyone has said how sad this song was. I really don't think you're paying attention to the lyrics. When Bjork's character sang this song, she said "this isn't the last song" that right there should be enough to give anyone even a tiny bit of hope. The song means that even though her character is gone, her musical isn't done, and that there is still more to come.
i agree ... yes i cried through the whole ending in the movie with this song, but its about hope and that her son was with her and will always be with her.. after she sings they show this quote that ties in with the song..... "They say it's the last song They don't know us, you see It's only the last song If we let it be"
this means so many things... i'm not very knowledgeable about films, so perhaps i haven't seen any of your favourite films, but i do know dancer in the dark is my favourite one, and also the best ost i've ever listened to. this song is really sad, but as you said it makes a pinch of hope grow in me. i suppose its greatness can't be described with words
from about the point where phill steals the money and she goes to retrieve it to ending i just cry uncontrollably. especially when she's screaming and crying violently. but then she starts singing this song i felt somewhat of a sense of comfort and hope. bjork just amazes me.
i have to say... i really didn't like bjork before i saw this movie. now - i'm just in awe. no movie has ever effected me as much as 'Dancer in the Dark' has. and i do love the lyrics that she never gets to sing....
i saw dancer in the dark today. I finally got around to it, and it was amazing. This song got to me, and it suprised me so much that she dropped as she was finishing. i was about to bawl like a baby. Such raw emotion harnessed into simple words. im still in awe.
i like it but the end startles me because she falls through the floor and gets hanged! omg
