Love Is The Movement Lyrics
A day in LA
And millions of faces
Are looking for movement
'Cause everything's stuck
And everything's frozen
And everyone's broken
And nobody moves
And everyone's scared
That the motion will never come
This is the incompletion
Stuck in a line
Love is the movement
Love is a revolution
This is redemption
We don't have to slow back down
The stars are alive
They dance to the music
Of the deepest emotion
And all of the world
Is singing in time
As the heavens are caving in
Mysterious ways
Why God gave His life
To put motion inside my soul
It's bigger than cold religion
It's bigger than life
We're starting now
We don't have to slow back down
This is a revolution
And millions of faces
Are looking for movement
'Cause everything's stuck
And everything's frozen
And everyone's broken
And nobody moves
And everyone's scared
That the motion will never come
Stuck in a line
Love is a revolution
This is redemption
We don't have to slow back down
They dance to the music
Of the deepest emotion
And all of the world
Is singing in time
As the heavens are caving in
Mysterious ways
Why God gave His life
To put motion inside my soul
It's bigger than life
We don't have to slow back down

This song was inspired to the singer 'Jon' from 'The Chronicles of Narnia' every night his dad would read them to him, before he feel asleep. And this one part stuck in his head "'Cause everything's stuck And everything's frozen And everyone's broken" that is when they walk into the castle and all of them are frozen and cemented. It is from book 2 'The lion the witch and the wardrobe'
this song is about the gifts god will give u, to be loved by god is the greatest feeling
god put motion in my soul
thanks for the info specs. This my favorite Switchfoot song, it builds upon itself and climaxes w/ 2 different groups of people singing 2 seperate lyrical parts. Great Song.
wow this song=amazing. The lyrics and music each bringing their own emotion, combine so well together that it becomes an explosion of emotion. I love it.
Well, the Bible says God is Love, so maybe it's about God just moving you...giving your life meaning.
sometimes when can forget how amazing God's love is. It can become mundane, ceremonial, and too religious (like when he says "cold religion"). I think Jon was trying to make us remember that God's love is a movement that is meant to be exciting, celebrated, and enthusiastic. We can't take it for granite. It's so much bigger than everything.
the line"mysterious ways why God gave his life to put motion inside my soul"explains the song for me. God died because he LOVED us so much. this song is about loving the way God does. we are nothing without love, God's love.(everyone's frozen, stuck etc.,)we can do many things with the love of God. we have to start now.
We don't have to slow back down!
the song is straight forward. jon tells us that love is the movement. our kindness, our words, our love for other people is a beautiful movement. but some of us arent moving. we're stuck and afraid. when love is a big movement in the world, then it will be a revolution leading to redemption by many people. thats the beauty of love. on the other hand we can never fully grasp how great God's love is, its a rehearsal. love is a movement thats bigger than religion. its a hard song to understand; but it is such an amaing song jon has written.
it has to do with the organization to write love on her arms. love is the movement is one of their mottos. and switchfoot is a big supporter of them. www.twloha.com
