The Farm Lyrics

It's not a place you can get to by a boat or a train
It's far far away
Beyond the moon
(I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too)
(Toto)
Beyond the rain
(I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore)

A there's a cockroach in my coffee
There's a needle in my arm
And I feel like New York Cittay
A get me to the farm

(Chorus)
A get me to the farm
A get me to the farm
Somebody get me to the farm

I got terminal uniqueness
I'm an egocentric man
I get caught up in my freakness
But I ain't no Peter Pan
A get me to the farm

A get me to the farm
Get me to the farm
Get me...

Buckle up straight jack
Insanity is such a drag
Jellybean thorazene
Transcendental jet lag
Sanity I ain't gotta
Feeling like a pinata
Sucker punch, blow lunch
Motherload, pigeonhole
I'm feeling like I'm gonna explode

Yeah...I gonna shave my head
I wanna be a Hare Krishna
Tattoo a dot right on my head
Heh, heh...
And the prozac is my fixer...yeah
I am the living dead

Follow the yellow brick road...(I'm melting)
Follow the yellow brick road...
(If I were King of the forest)

A take me to the farm
A take me to the farm
Somebody take me to the farm
Somebody take me to the farm

Take me to the farm
A take me to the farm
Somebody take me to the farm
Somebody take me to the farm

Take me to the farm
Take me to the farm
Take me to the farm

Take me to the farm
Take me to the farm
Take me to the farm

Take me to the farm
Take me to the farm
Take me to the farm

Take me to the farm
A take me to the farm
Somebody take me to the far....m

Wake up honey...
Then I'm sure to get a brain...
A heart...
A home...
The nerve...

Most people don't understand the meaning of this song.

For starters, "The Farm" is actually a slang term for the CIA (Steven said on Howard Stern his best friend is in the CIA so it makes sense in the respect that he'd mention something about it).

In this song they play tons of clips from the movie "The Wizard Of Oz", which is well known to be the biggest mind control/ MK Ultra movie there is, full of subliminal messages. This was the CIA's first attempt at brainwashing the public on a massive scale.

'The Farm" is where the characters in the movie are trying to go in order to find the great and powerful Oz to grant them their wishes. But basically, the song is very trippy with a lot of hidden meanings. "The Farm" is also where MK Ultra (mind control victims) are sent to be programed. The song is without a doubt about Mk Ultra.

My favorite line is "I got terminal uniqueness" which many Mk Ultra victims technically have, since it is their "uniqueness" that makes them targets to become Mk Ultra victims, which of course kills many of them in the end.

*Meant to say "The Farm" is where Dorothy is trying to go back home to Kansas on her farm

Cool song... but weird... it has some dialogues from "The wizard of Oz", Steven Tyler's favourite movie

It may be about drugs and life in the city, but i'm not sure... what about "The Farm"? A place to rest from the city?

I am listening to this right now. It's not ever been one of my favs, however listening again I LOVE LOVE Tyler's voice! He is so incredible.!! I think this song is just about a crazy person? Need to be taken to the Funny Farm! LOL He is so amazing, all his references to the Wizard of Oz. If we all follow the yellow brick road we will be fixed....hehehe

i think the song is steven's step back to drugs and where he was in the seventies. not even saying so much that he wants to be there again, but that he is. the farm could be a name for a meth lab or wherehe goes to get his weed .. he's down and out and living like a bum in the dirtiest underground of the city altho the shaving of his head could suggest he's been thrown into a mental asylum and how prozac is his "fixer" but i'm not sure..

It's no accident that the next song on the album is "Crash." This song, to me, is just about being all screwed up in more ways than one: there's no real sense of logic here, because the speaker is insane. "Get me to the farm" could mean he wants more drugs, he wants to get sober, he wants to go to the mental institution, or he wants to die. Probably it means more than one, maybe all of it. The song captures a giddy sense of bat-shit craziness, the peak of the high.

I see "Crash" as a companion piece to this one, equally about insanity, but much more destructive.
