Steven Tyler was not too clear of the meaning of this song as his lyrics are fairly ambiguous. To claim that the song is simply about pussy would be a superficial and inaccurate interpretation.

For example - "Pink - it's my new obsession"

I seriously doubt that pussy is Tyler's "NEW" obsession unless he was gay up until the time he wrote this song. I think we can safely eliminate Steven Tyler being gay although I wouldn't eliminate bisexuality given the video to this song.

or - "I wanna wrap you in rubber"

Generally, you don't wrap pussy in rubber but hey, I'm sure somebody somewhere does it.

With that being said, Tyler does sing:

"Pink - on the lips of your lover" "Pink - as the bing on your cherry"

These lyrics could be interpreted as referring to pussy but I don't think they sum up the whole song or the meaning of the song.

Since Tyler was not completely clear in his lyrics as to what the hell he was talking about why don't we look at the video as we can safely bet that the video was made to somewhat correspond with the meaning of the song. Generally, that's what videos do. The video shows all different types of people who are portraying different sexual fetishes/preferences. Why would Tyler have a video showing this if his song is just about pussy? Doesn't make any sense, does it? He would've probably said to the director, "Hey dumb-ass, what the hell is this crap? This is not what my song is about, let's try it again." Guess what? He didn't do that.

So what is the song about? Consider the video and these lyrics:

"Pink - it's the color of passion Ah, 'cause today it just goes with the fashion"

"And I think everything is going to be all right No matter what we do tonight"

And consider the fact that Tyler (and Perry and other band members) show up in the video in many different forms.

Pink - as indicated in the song - represents different things to different people. Pink is basically your passion for whatever and whoever you like in terms of sexual preference/fetish. If it makes you feel good then get after it. Of course, this brings into question Tyler's sexual preferences and suggests that he has a varied and enormous appetite for more than just, you guessed it, pussy.

Some say the song is about pussy which is possible but I view it as he likes girls that are "out there". the color pink is just one of those weird but neat colors and I think what he is saying is he doesnt want just some average girl. He wants a fun, spontaneous kinda girl. Just my views. =P

What makes me laugh is when this song first came out, me and my friends were pretty young and didn't know what it meant. SO you've got a bunch of little kids running around singing a song about Vagaina.

I would refer to the following verses as proof:

"it's kink, but you don't ever tell her" - Take off your without telling her, or you just don't wear one in the first place.

"Pink when I turn out the lights." - Take off your condom as soon as the lights go out.

"think everything is gonna be alright no matter what we do tonight." - Even if we have unprotected sex, everything should be okay, hopefully.

All in all, a pretty fucked up song if you have any respect for women. But I still like the song. Maybe I'm fucked up too.

My interpretation will be different, I guess. When I first listened to this song I never thought that er, the meaning was 'that'. The song is slow but addictive. It kinda reminded me of the 'butterflies' we feel in our stomach when we see our crush. The nervousness, the fast heartbeats, the giddiness, the palm sweating and the stammering. It reminded me how we feel when talking to our crushes and feeling shy and nervous. And the happiness we feel when we see our crush is smiling at us, getting the chance to talk to them and even shaking their hands. The song never shouted 'vagina' in my head like it seems to do for most people.

Everyone looks at things differently. So I suppose it has that meaning too.

In colour themes and meanings, pink is the colour of sweetness, femininity and love.

It's pretty obvious this song is about pink as in 'love'. The 'love' can be sexually-oriented or emotionally. So I think this song can mean anything from small crushes to vaginas.

Simply put Pink is a song about love.
