Kings And Queens Lyrics
Long ago in days I'm told
Were ruled by Lords of greed
Maidens fared with gold
They dared to bare their wombs that bleed
Kings and queens and guillotines
Taking lives denied
Starch and parchment laid the laws
When bishops took the ride
Only to deceive
Oh I know I lived this life afore
Somehow know now truths I must be sure
Tossin turnin' nightmares burnin' dreams of swords in hand
Sailin' ships the Viking spits the blood of father's land
Only to deceive
Living times of knights and mares
Raising swords for maidens fair
Sneer at death fear only loss of pride
Living other centuries
Deja vu or what you please
Follows true to all who do or die
Screams of no reply they died
Screams of no reply and died
Lordy lordy and then then they died
Lordy no then they died
Live and do or die
Long ago were days I told...Lord they died
Kings and queens and guillotines...
Live and no reply they died
Long ago were days I told...
Kings and queens and guillotines...
Were ruled by Lords of greed
Maidens fared with gold
They dared to bare their wombs that bleed
Taking lives denied
Starch and parchment laid the laws
When bishops took the ride
Only to deceive
Somehow know now truths I must be sure
Tossin turnin' nightmares burnin' dreams of swords in hand
Sailin' ships the Viking spits the blood of father's land
Only to deceive
Raising swords for maidens fair
Sneer at death fear only loss of pride
Deja vu or what you please
Follows true to all who do or die
Screams of no reply and died
Lordy lordy and then then they died
Lordy no then they died
Long ago were days I told...Lord they died
Kings and queens and guillotines...
Live and no reply they died
Long ago were days I told...
Kings and queens and guillotines...

This song is an comparison of medieval times to the present. Mainly in ways that the times are the same. "I know I've lived this life before", means that the same situations are happening. History repeats itself. "De ja vu or what you please" is a line that is an obvious reference to something that has happened before.
The song Kings and Queens delves into the archetypes of kings and queens, contrasting tyranny with valor. It begins by referencing a time "long ago in days untold, when ruled by lords of greed," drawing a parallel between ancient myths and the present day. The lyrics highlight young women's lust for material wealth, perpetuating a cycle of greed between men and women that leads to the destruction of lives denied. The song also critiques false preachers who claim to uphold moral doctrines.
The singer sees these archetypes of power, greed, and false authority continuing to dominate the world today, just as they did in the past. He positions himself as a hero, making a noble pledge of defiance against this tyranny. He calls for allegiance, only to watch virtue be destroyed, echoed in "screams of no reply"—a final call to either fight on or be defeated.
i can identify with these lyric so well. i think he is saying that he dreams of living in another century, one with castles, and swords, and vikings, inspite of some of bad things that went on at the time. i have always thought that i was born about 800 years too late.
i think he's comparing today to those times...... "Living other centuries (DEJA VU) or what you please Follows true to all who do or die"
I don't know. I listened to the song on acid before, and it's pretty fuckin trippy. It's kind of like having a nightmare of being trapped somewhere you aren't supposed to be and trying to survive
@metalhead420 Mybcomment would have been that it sounds like they were on an acid-trip. "Knights and mares"

sneer at death, fear only loss of pride.
enough said.
Awesome song...I can't quite explain what it means to me. It's mocking the Medievel times, the dark ages. That's what it seems to me. And also comparing those times to nowadays. Things haven't really changed. Things are still similar.
The way I interpret this song is it being about the olden times form of capital punishment, and how the people in power would kill those who did not obey them. And nowadays it's still the Kings and Queens (the rich) in power who call the shots, and we have advanced forms of capital punishment. I think the difference between then and now, is people fought for their rights with their lives and nowadays it seems the modern day people who are willing to be warriors are fighting these Kings and Queens wars instead of fighting them for their rights.
its an aswome song....he'z giving us a little history lesson...rock on....
Awesome song. I love medieval times, though i don't necessarily wished I lived in them.
