(ok it didn't add my coment) this is a great song. its about how if you live in the usa you are in the land of the free, but the goverment controls us and we are not really free.

So true no democratic society is truly a free society, but realistically we are more free than most countries and it's not the fact that there is a government in power but rather the way the government doesn't give different social classes the same liberties as other classes.... " it's big business and oil companies" that's just a piece of it. Jim is so smart and has his beliefs and ideals and this is just a little piece of the United States that bothers him... I think anyways...
Toxikdvd86, grow up, and bam, you are true in what you say about Jim's qualms, but you have to realize that he's been all over the world and has seen alot more than any of us. Although he does have his qualms with the way the U.S. is run, he knows that this is the greatest place to live, and that's what keeps him here.

It's about how conservatives think that if you want freedom in this country, you have to think like they do. If you think differently, no freedom for you. It's like that movie "Freaks" where the characters say "One of us! One of us! Gobble, gobble, gobble! One of us!", but a conservative would add "You're not one of us, so you get no freedom!" Conservatives fail to understand that their hypocritical policies caused us to be dependent on the government in the first place. They are all for limited government, but their views change when sex is involved.
