Nobody's Fault Lyrics

Lord, I must be dreamin'
What else could this be?
Everybody's screamin'
Runnin' for the sea

Holy lands are sinkin'
Birds take to the sky
The prophets all are stinkin' drunk
I know the reason why

Eyes are full of desire
Mind is so ill-at-ease
Everything is on fire
Shit piled up to the knees

Out of rhyme or reason, everyone's to blame
Children of the season, don't be lame

Sorry, you're so sorry
Don't be sorry

Man has known and now he's blown it
Upside down and hell's the only sound, we did an awful job
And now they say it's nobody's fault

Old San Andreas
Seventy years ago
Shove it up their Richters
Red lines stop and go

Noblemen of courage
Listen with their ears
Spoke without discouragin'
When no one really hears

One of these days you'll be sorry
Too many houses on the stilt
Three million years or just a story
Four on the floor up to the hilt

Out of rhyme or reason, everyone's to blame
Children of the season, don't be lame

Sorry, you're so sorry
Don't be sorry

Man has known and now he's blown it
Upside down and hell's the only sound, we did an awful job
And now we're just a little too late

Eyes are full of desire
Mind is so ill-at-ease
Everything is on fire
Our shit's piled up in debris

California showtime
Five o'clock's the news
Everybody's concubine was prone to take a snooze

Sorry, you're so sorry
Don't be sorry

Man has known and now he's blown it
Upside down and hell's the only sound, we did an awful job
And now we're just a little too late

har-mageddon, another inspired Aerosmith classic sp. children of the season of the lame- just like "Seasons of wither" a story of mankind's demise at his own hand, then at God's hand Man has known it, God the irony!

I apologixe, but I must add the funny reference to "holy" lands sinking- meaning "Hollywood""city of fallen angels", the song, this lyric, and the son's title are a reference to the SanAndrea's Fault Line, California showtime, hehe shove it up there richters (Richter Scale) redlines of the shochave from the massive quake the sinking of parts of california

wow, how prophetic, it reveals the band was a spiritual anointed of..., well you know, even the name "spirit""smith""aerosmith""eros myth" etc is about him, Satan

dude, not to rain on your parade or anything but tyler got the idea from reading the book 'arrowsmith' at highschool and changing it slightly, it's all in their autobiography which is a good read; otherwise i like the ideas about the fault lines an all that!

in the autobiography or the boxed set I cant remember its said that it was written about the nuclear power plant built on a fault line.

"Spare me your 6th grade Michael Moore logic"

SageLFN, you're partly right. In their autobiography Steven says that this song is about two things the band was afraid of in that time which was flying and earthquakes. The nuclear power plant in New Jersey which was near a fault line.

This is one of my favorite Aerosmith songs ever. I love the drumming and the guitar work. Joey says that he thinks that it's some of the best drumming he's ever done but they never played it live because it was never popular.

Thats an interesting theory, but I don't know how much weight I'd put into it. Do you have anything else to back it up? Not to say you are wrong, just that they've always been pretty straightforward in their messages.

Also, Testament covered this song.

Dude, this is my fav. Aerosmith song and they are my favorite band of all time (not to mention the best rock band in history!!), i don't know why this is my favorite but just the way Steven sings is so unique and beautiful.

I submitted a request to change the lyrics "Seven years ago" to "Seventy years ago"

Listening closely, one can hear him sing "seventy years", pronouncing it as "seven-deeyears."

Seventy also makes sense because Aerosmith "Rocks" was released in 1976. The Great San Francisco Earthquake and Fire happened in 1906, seventy year earlier.

@turantual Sorry, but I have listened a number of times & it's "Seven" . But I would be interested to get a concensus going on this. Then (we) can put in a reversal request just to keep things accurate. Also....there are many examples of words & phrases And it's a know phenomenon that if you are ( thinking) to hear it a paticular way, That's how you likely will here it. I tried to ( think) about him singing " seventy" but it Aalways said " Seven".

'Rocks' rocks all the way. Slash has said 'Rocks' changed his life.
