Last Child Lyrics
I'm dreaming tonight, I'm living back home
Right!
Yeah...yeah
Take me back to a south Tallahassee
Down cross the bridge to my sweet sassafrassy
Can't stand up on my feet in the city
Gotta get back to the real nitty gritty
Yes sir, no sir
Don't come close to my
Home sweet home
Can't catch no dose
Of my hot tail poon tang sweetheart
Sweathog ready to make a silk purse
From a J Paul Getty and his ear
With her face in her beer
Home sweet home
Get out in the field
Put the mule in the stable
Ma she's a cookin'
Put the eats on the table
Hate's in the city
And my love's in the meadow
Hands on the plow
And my feets in the ghetto
Stand up, sit down
Don't do nothing
It ain't no good when boss man's
Stuffin' down their throats
For paper notes
And their babies cry
While cities lie at their feet
When you're rockin' the street
Home sweet home
Mama, take me home sweet home
I was the last child
I'm just a punk in the street
(Repeat)
Right!

Last-Child, I think it's think almost the opposite. I think, it's about being a country boy, whose moved to the city for work, and wanting to go back home, to your grass roots. That's my opinion, though. Peace
I don't think the song is about growing up. Its about a guy who was the last born in his family, and so, maybe he didn't get much attention from the family, and slowly drifted out, becoming a 'punk in the streets'. Aerosmith rules, btw.
I believe this song is about the lure of the "big city" to a country boy, and then the country boy realizes that the big city is not as great as he imagined, and wishes he was back home where life was simpler, instead of being in the "rat race".
I remember the anticipation of this album’s release, it was a year after another great album of theirs called “Toys in the attic” and before that “Get your wings“, everyone was waiting.
I remember listening to it for the first 1st time Like it was yesterday and I remember when it was over I was left wanting more, not only because it was so short but also because it was so good. This was clearly Aerosmith at therapy, at least it was to me.
Anyway, I’m in agreement that he was a country boy who moved to the city, Although at one point he says “Gotta get back to the real nitty-gritty“, which makes me think of speed and urban life.
I’ve texted my boys many times saying “Ma she’s a cookin, got da eats on da table” and they laugh.
Great album from a great band at their peak.
aerosmith is fn' unbelieveable...what more is there to say..
just makes me want to groove...
What the fuck were they smoking when they wrote this! Unbelievable song, and he is simply rambling about some shit I have not got a clue about.
to me this is a song about finding it in yourself as a city boy to get inot the country, then having the pull to get back, this is a fantastic song
i agree with sailing all alone peace2
fuckin brill =] how the hell he gets away with those lyrics i dunno, how it makes sense at all is another mystery XD fab tune
