in vh1 behind the music steve tyler said the lines Ya callin' my name, but I gotta make clear I can't say baby where I'll be in a year were written specifically to Joe's first wife and that he honestly can not say that about most lines of any song he's ever written. They meant he couldn't say where he'd be because it was hopefully as far away from her as possible.

This song was written by steven tyler about Joe Perry's wife who was always interfering with the band affairs & who often patronised steve. Steven sends out the nessage that one person ain't gonna change him. Cuz there are thousand others who love to see him & joe perform together.

This song is rock genius. Wikipedia says: "The song kicks into a more rocking rhythm with dueling guitars, and rapid-fire angry-sounding lyrics sung by Steven Tyler." I love the rapid-fire angry-sounding lyrics!

I can't believe none of you have touched on "cause the rabbit done died". This is a reference to the fabled pregnancy test. So, at least the last part of the words are about the writer not being the father of the baby.

According to Steven Tyler's biography this verses are not about Elyssa Perry. They were dedicated to a sixteen years old groupie he fell in love with in one of the first american Aerosmith tours.

This song means to me that you should just be yourself and worry about what people think about you. I enjoy this song as well. I think that Aerosmith is the coolest band ever.

This song has always been an Aerosmith favorite of mine. The guitar parts totally rock! This song to me is about having fun to deal with the difficulties of touring and being on the road.

Steven Tyler wrote this about how frustrated he was with the band. They were doing a lot of drugs at the time, and tensions often ran high, especially between Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry.

I agree with all of you...it's a kick ass song. Like Boonechic_21 said that song was written when tensions were high and they were doing drugs. But the lyrics were directed at Joe Perry's first wife. Steven Tyler was tired of here being around the band all of the time and he thought that she was breaking the band up by seperating Joe from the rest of the band. So I guess this was his was of telling her that her shit does stink no matter what she may think. All that being said I think the first part of the song he is talking to Joe's wife pretty much telling her that she's nothing but a groupy especially him talking about screwing her backstage. I think kinda indirectly too that he is trying to tell Joe that his wife is nothing but trash so he should dump her....either way I don't think she was very well though of....but that's my 2 cents.
