Beauty And The Beast Lyrics
Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Than somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Just a little change
Small, to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will arise
Tale as old as time
Tune as old as song
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong
Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Than somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Small, to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will arise
Tune as old as song
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast

Wow "itzadoodzy." I'm not usually a hostile person, but your comment really upset me.
Are you a fucking racist idiot?
Just because this song is featured in Disney's Beauty in the Beast doesn't mean only 2-year-olds listen to it. I'm 16 and I love this song and the movie as well. Celine Dion has a gorgeous voice and the lyrics are well done considering it had to depict a scene between a girl ballroom dancing with a boar.
Also, someone's nationality has nothing to do with their talents, and I'm pretty sure French Canadians didn't hire Celine Dion to corrupt "your youngins" minds. Besides, someone as ignorant and racist as you won't be having very worth children anyways.
How would you like it if I said that Candy is a hooker's name and you probably are one and you suck "MONKEY BUTTS BEOTCH!" Probably the most immature thing I've ever heard. What are you doing looking up Celine Dion lyrics anyways. I seriously suggest redifing your attitude, because it sucks.
This song is sooo beautiful and I've fallen in love with it all over again but with regards to the meaning...
I think that it's about two people who never really liked each other but eventually fell in love with each other. Because the first verse -which I think really just tells you what the whole is about- says:
Tale as old as time True as it can be Barely even friends Than somebody bends Unexpectedly
The first two lines could mean that the story is such an old story but still very realistic And the rest of the verse is how two people aren't very close 'barely even friends' but then someone changes unexpectedly.
After that I think the song is pretty self explanatory.
Just a little change Small, to say the least Both a little scared Neither one prepared
It's a small change, hardly noticeable but they're both a bit scared about it and neither one of them was prepared for it.
Such a beautiful song. Timeless.
says that as long as time has been around people who don't love can decide to love and when they do.. that's what makes a happy ending
I think it means that sometimes ppl take fist impressions for granted. Sometimes, if you look a little deeper, you can be suprised
I think this is actually some wack ass religous chant, dont let your children listen to this becouse they will turn out like a french canadian.
I've loved this song since I was a kid and watched beauty and the beast in the cinema. I love the words - they talk about how love always exists, and that it's a big thing which challenges you.:)
Well said Concrete Echo. I'm 16 as well, and I absolutely love this song. Dion's voice is very enchanting... Unlike others, I haven't seen the film until a few months ago, and I really fell in love with it.
i love this song and im not a 2 year old. i love celine dion she is an amazing singer and i dont think people should be talking bad about her. but if you dont like her then it's your fault for missing out on a talented performer
This is an amazing song by an amazing singer. I have to say I do like this version better than the swedish :)
