Cold Fish is amazing... there is an expression about seasons which goes "goes in like a lion and out like a lamb" ... and thats how Taxidermy is. it starts out with this song, an amazing and very energy-filled song and ends with the extremely gentle Weeds. i think this song is about intimidation... in human terms i guess. i don't know, it makes more sense in terms which have no words. but yes, intimidation.
to me, personally, and I'm aware that this is a personal interpretation and not necessarily 'right' (if there is such a thing) I see this as a song about sex.

Seems to me like a metaphor (a really graphic and not entriely pleasant one) for sex. Cold fish - male, in my little dish - female. Use your imagination. And that brings the song onto a more perverse level. But I also think that this song is about masochism. The character in the song is actually enjoying the sex taken down to it's most crude, lude, perverse level. That's what they want. They want to be punished. It's about masochism.

I agree too, I think this song is about sex but also about people's views of sex and how some people can be disapproving of things which are ultimately just release. Masochism and the dark sexual energy within people is a subject which Katie Jane brings up a lot in her songs. If anyone wants to discuss Queen Adreena etc feel free to e-mail me.
She has this voice that I can't help but listen to, but at the same time I can't decide if I actually like her or not lol I know that makes no sense at all but I can't explain it any better :p
Anyway, yes, i agree that the song has definite sexual references, to say the least!
This song is about losing your virginity and how people see you as a cold fish before you lose it.
