Maybe Lyrics
The sky now divides
To bring you back into the fold
Welcome home
Still my need to recognize
Any comfort you may show
Only grows
Guess I'll learn to accommodate
While my heart just sits and waits
Maybe God you found
Maybe is all that you can offer now
Where am I to take refuge
When the storms of pain release
Shelter me
This blessedness of life
Sometimes brings me to my knees
I call on thee
I have not the words to write
A Farewell to you tonight
Maybe God you found
Maybe is all that you can offer now
I know hearts are weeping
While your voice is now singing
On high, angel on high
** This song was written in memory of Kib Browning**
To bring you back into the fold
Welcome home
Still my need to recognize
Any comfort you may show
Only grows
Guess I'll learn to accommodate
While my heart just sits and waits

When the storms of pain release
Shelter me

To start off...this song is awesome. It was written in memory of Kib Browning. I'm not sure who that is. Its a song of hope and wishfulness. "Maybe God you found Maybe is all that you can offer now" Hope that one day this person will be reunited w/.

this is a beautiful elegy off the best collective soul album (in my opinion..i like how the contrast of the dark and hopeful undertones in the album bring ahumane feel to it...and this is easily the best song of that album...
I miss you now that you're gone, and I don't understand why you had to go. I guess I "need to recognize any comfort you might show." I soon realized that you are better off where you are right now because, "maybe, God you found." Now you're a singing angel. You may be gone, but your memory is still with us..."while your voice is now singing on high, angel on high."
cool cool who is kib browning?
Gosh I don't know - I thought this song was about a close friend of a band member's who "found God" - but for some reason I thought it was in a cynical sense, as in a born-again Christian abandoning his friends because of his newfound religious fervor. If you think about it, the lyrics actually make sense for that interpretation. But there is no sarcastic or bitter tone in the song, just a relaxed, enlightened tone, and the "in memory of Kib Browning" sounds like somebody who dies, which means it was a song written to someone who maybe found Heaven. Still cannot find out who Kib Browning is, but there is a collectivesoul.com with message boards.... haven't got around to searching them.

Reminds me so much of my Grandmother...
She was the best person I've ever known.
To this day this makes me tear up. It was playing in my pickup when I was driving from a maternity hospital in Donetsk Ukraine to our little town 15 minutes away to pickup my wife’s pop and bring him to see her. Inna went into miscarriage with our now 14 year old son when she was just at 2 months gestation. Having already delivered her pop I went back to pick up folks from her mother’s side of the family which consisted of her holy roller aunt. Naturally before hauling ass back to the city where Inna was in a maternity hospital we had to stop and pray. We’d been there 40-45 minutes me standing on one foot then the other crossing myself every time the others in the church did every 15 seconds as a young Russian orthodox priest said prayers in Russian. Suddenly someone I didn’t know burst in to say my son had a 50% chance of living. I didn’t even know the fetus’s sex and thought he’d already died from miscarriage before entering that church. I was like WOW! Prayers….It works So as I was driving away from that hospital Maybe was playing. Those lyrics fit the occasion perfectly Imagine hearing those lyrics right after you think your baby you didn’t get a chance to meet just went to see God
