It’s beautiful how a depressed mind can creat such wonderful lyrics. In my opinion Chris struggles in this song to understand or maybe accept himself in a mental illness condition.. Euphoria is a symptom of Bipolar Disorder. Chris allegedly experienced depression cycles in his life.. which can be part of a greater disease, maybe bipolar disorder.. maniac and depressive cycles. Drug addiction, self medication, self destruction feelings and suicidal ideation are symptoms of Bipolar Disorder..
Bipolar Disorder is the killer, not the drugs. If you know someone who is going through difficult moments, be kind to this person.

Amazingly brilliant song. The emphasis of him finally doing his trademark 'belt it out' thing on the last "Save my love" is devastating.
When you think you've found someone, have dealt with them, and are realizing that it's just not going to be, you must realize that you should save your strongest love for the 'lasting one'.

Arnt the lrics "Using stars to light you candles" not "using STARTS to light your candles"?
The lyrics are horribly wrong... I will fix them
It's quite obvious this song is about heroin addiction. "using stars to light your candles", I think refers to bandmates lighting candles that are used to light a heroin spoon.
