A continuation of sorts from The Smiths track Sweet and Tender Hooligan. The same theme of jealously and disdain directed at some rotten shit who gets to do what he wants.
I used to skip right over this bit of fluff, but it's really grown on me.
I believe it's about a combination of repressed sexuality & some envy mixed in, likely in regards to James Dean (Morrisey's own infatuation & idol).
It reminds me of the flash kids you knew at school who were only interested in their cars and girlfriends.
I can imagine Morrissey hating them and being jealous of them at the same time because he was too poor and shy to be like them and he thought they were beneath him because they were unintelligent.
