Eventually, Anyway Lyrics

i saw you sitting there
looking on top of the world
he was holding you like you were his
you didn't see me but
i was there that night
his arms around you holding you tight
and now i know that you aren't mine
one more time

and i try to get a little better
maybe things can be a little better
'cause i know that you know that
things are never gonna change

was it you or was it me
that's making me feel so fucking empty?
like the bottle i drank
that's not gonna ease that pain
without you i'll never be the same

why are you walking away?
did i mean that little to you anyway?
are you forgetting my name?
will i mean that little to you
eventually, anyway?

"Veronica Sawyer" got me hooked on this band, I heard it in my best friend at the time, Andy's dorm room my freshman year at college. Near the end of the year our friendship dissolved. I am still obsessed with Edna's Goldfish, but all of their songs have this hint of bittersweetness because of him.... this song completely captures that. "will i mean that little to you eventually, anyway?"

Yeah, I have a feeling this song is definitely about being in some sort of relationship (I believe a serious one). The guy can't really comprehend what exactly went wrong, yet he knows things are done. I sense maybe he wishes there could still be some sort of relationship between the two, but is starting to think she's completely done with me.......that sound right to you guys?

I can totally relate as well. It's awful when you're replaced so quickly. But yeah, this song is cool and definatley my favourite by edna's goldfish.x
