Wasteland Lyrics
Out into the wasteland
Out into the wasteland
No religion
No religion, no religion at all
No religion
No religion, no religion at all
No religion, no religion at all
No religion
No religion, no religion at all
No religion
No religion at all
No religion
Emissionary man amongst the heathen
Can't you see a modern primitive
I came back, I'm gonna find,
I'm gonna give religion
When there was, no religion at all
I'm outta the wasteland
I'm into this head man
I'm outta the wasteland
No religion at all
I'm outta the wasteland
I'm into this head man
I'm outta the wasteland
No religion, no religion at all
There's a man in need of resurrection
(No religion)
Can't you see a modern primitive
(No religion)
But I'm a man I need my love and
freedom (No religion)
When there was no freedom at all
I'm outta the wasteland
I'm into this head man
I'm outta the wasteland
No religion at all
I'm outta the wasteland
I'm into this head man
I'm outta the wasteland
No religion, no religion at all
No religion
No religion at all
No religion
No religion at all
In VR land
The future of fun
Tell me what to do
In VR law
Computer crime
Um, so sublime
A fantasy scene
In my machine
Give me secret of life
Let me know, yeah, what I am
And you know that I could get
Outta the wasteland
I'm into this head man
I'm outta the wasteland
No religion at all
I'm outta the wasteland
I'm into this head man
I'm outta the wasteland
No religion, no religion at all
I'm outta the wasteland
So far from the the deadland
Ow, I'm outta the wasteland
No religion, no religion yeah
I'm outta the wasteland
So far from the the deadland
Yeah, I'm outta the wasteland
No religion, no religion at all
No religion, no religion at all

The few critics who gave attention to this cd lambasted it, but I think those critics are a bunch of fucktards, its five stars, its genius, intelligent and a good synthesis of a lot of different sounds... better than any sci-fi novel in my opinion, really pleasurable and truly cathartic listen, the future seen in the past (it's already kind of an old cd). This is a great opener to the cd (its track 2, but the first track is one of those... bracer tracks, if you know what I mean)
Yes, those critics just didn't accept that Billy was doing something different. The Cyberpunk album is very good, you just need to listen to the music and forget names and pre-made ideas about artists. Other albums by Billy Idol had just 3 or 4 great songs and the rest was filler but as it retained the sound that the critics thought it was kind of mainstream and they just pick up any chance to try to bash artist who have great success! Cyberpunk is the kind of album with great variety of sounds and songs for all moods, songs that rock you completely like Shock To the System or when The Night Comes, Wasteland and Power Junkie, really unique calm songs that really relax you like Adam in Chains, Shangrilah, the powerfull blend of gospel, rock and eletronica Mother Dawn, Heroin is just such a shaking track a Velvet Underground cover with a touch of trance and rythm, other dancy tracks like Concrete Kingdom and Venus the dramatic Tomorrow People etc. This is the kind of album that has songs for every mood! I think that most of the critics lambasted it without even listening to it it's comon to happen. It's probably is best work as a whole because it shows you innovation, creativity all with Billy Idol great vocal talent...it's a genius work believe me! It something different from Idol's previous works but is his best...way way ahead of it's time, it was 1993 and Idol was doing the music of today!
Great song. Good lyrics. Underrated album.
