Coming Clean Lyrics
I found my place in the sun,
lied my way there.
I've looked into your eyes,
I'm coming clean.
I've made up my mind.
To lie would be to compromise
and I won't try.
I'm sorry,
I hope you'll forgive me
but what you want from me
is killing me.
lied my way there.
I've looked into your eyes,
I'm coming clean.
I've made up my mind.
To lie would be to compromise
and I won't try.
I'm sorry,
I hope you'll forgive me
but what you want from me
is killing me.

woooahhhhhh Stubby the pirate is me.
I used to be a scumbag.
These lyrics are so incredibly simple, and yet they fit into the song so perfectly, I LOVE IT
He is going to come clean with his girlfriend
why do boys lie...?
girls lie more than boys, its a proven fact. in my life anyway. why cant they have clear feelings instead of being unsure about everything? crazy. i think im being played....i dont like the thought of that...ill post back with progress :-)
I can relate to this song because it more then coming clean with girlfriend or boyfriend but maybe coming clean with something in his past.
Um liars suck and should be punished! I hate lying guys that are dumb becuz they just make life so shitty! They just need to "come clean" and fess up to their actions...life sucks for me!
the worst liars are the ones who lie and say they only did it because the didn't want to hurt your feelings. baw!!!
I see it differently. I am the liar. He wants to be friends, and I want more. So I lie and pretend to be content with friendship. I compromise. And it's killing me! GUKs kick ass!
i hate to be a dick, but so many times in these comments i see people saying "oh this song means this to me" when it's obvious from the lyrics that the intent was very specific and completely different.
this one, for example, is very simple. nosuchthing is closest: this could almost be about refusing to settle for friendship with an ex. but would you call that a "place in the sun"? hardly. this song is about breaking up with someone who you aren't as happy with as you'd hoped, even though they really want to stay with you.
heck, the pretending to be content with friendship idea would apply a lot better to my life, but that just isn't what the song is about.
