Small Town Lyrics
I heard a place not too far from here,
is handing out answers about why we are here
and it's a small town, in a small world,
and the congregation's small too,
but somehow I think they're telling the truth;
and in the same small town there is a girl,
she's a good looker but she's mad at the world,
and she's wonderin' about tomorrow and why she's here,
and she's sick and tired of using her sleeve to wipe her tears,
And you can tell by the look that's in her eyes that she's not well,
she wishes someone would close their eyes,
and picture this for just a moment to themselves;
At least that's what they say,
at least that's what they, that's what they say,
that's what they say,
at least that's what they say;
She sits alone, she's a re-run queen,
the sun shines through her window enough to make out her figurine;
Her neighbours look at her strange,
'cause she's lived there her whole life, and they still don't know her name;
She likes to keep to herself,
'cause she can't find nobody else;
Yeah, yeah, What they say, what they say, what they say, what they say,
and I don't care, what they say, what they say, what they say, what they say, and I don't care;
She wanders through the town,
to find this place she's heard about,
thinking maybe they can figure out what's wrong,
they greet her with a smile,
say they've been waiting for quite some while,
just to let her know she's worth more than she's ever dreamed of,
And her heart opens wide,
and for the first time in her life,
she feels the touch of JESUS deep inside,
she wonders what went wrong,
in a town where nothing's going on,
and thinks of all the others that she knows;
And she said, and she said, and she said, and she said.....

sounds like "she says 'I need another day, I need another day...." or possibly "I'll leave another day"
just my opinion :)
I always thought it was "What I need I never had" Its funny, because they all make sense haha I also though the "and she said" part was "and she's sad" still I sang it loud lol

I LOVE THIS SONG! But what 'did she say'?
what did she say?!?!? that is so totally bothering me, it sounds like he's saying something but also like he's just making weird vocal noises...hmm
she said something that had to deal with church and god about how they are worth more than they think. the place she's heard about is the church. so thats just what i think. its a great song
@CherrySweet I know this is many, many years later but I just heard this song again and it made me remember. The first time I heard this song a long time ago I felt something very strongly. I knew he was speaking in tongues and I also understood the meaning: she said "I'm not ugly anymore."

that kinda ruined my whole thought... i always thought he was saying and she's sad... i thought this worked because she was sad thinking of all the other people she knows who don't have Jesus :) but now that i actually know the words... cherrysweets sounds good to me!
I've never actually heard this song (there goes my credibility:)), but when I read that line I thought she would be talking about Jesus to everyone she knew. I also thought of the verse: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved" [Romans 10:9]
its about a troubled girl, who finds Jesus and starts a new life with Christ, its a great song and its totally relevant to my life...
Im not christian...Im totally anti-christ, but I love this song...The fact that Krutch is a christian band doesnt bother me, this is just a really good song about a girl, a girl that anyone could identify with...at least that's what they say...
the 'she said' part at the end is a link to the 'what they say' part....get it.... unless shes going off in tounges or whatknot
she says "wanna leave out her name"...its in the lyrics to the new cd
