Lift It Lyrics

Through my temptation to walk away,
and through the endless troubled days,
there's a hundred million ways,
for me to release your praise;
and by and by, and through the tears,
and things you've taught me through the years,
my whole life was designed by you,
I'll never know anyone half as true;

I lift it up, I lift it up,
lift it up so you can see,
I lift it up, I lift it up,
lift it up from inside of me;

So I lift it, I lift it up to you,
and I will never forget,
the times that we've been through,
so I lift it, I said I lift it up to you;
And I surrender all of me,
to you, to you, to you, and
everything I'll ever be, to you, to you, to you,
and I surrender all of me;

This song is such an awesome worship song, written by a Christian band. The lyrics in this song are praising God for his complete power and by singing 'I surrender all of me', the band is giving all of themselves to the Lord.

yes indeed, awesome worship song. has nothing to do with a girl, that would be just stupid. it's about lifting all the pain, sin and problems up to God and how He takes it away and has always been there and how you are giving your whole self to God.

TFK ROCKS!

it's clearly a worship song, being this a christian band. but by the analogy of God marrying the church (stemming from adam and eve - adam=God eve=all of humanity, get it? Satan tempted eve first, or all of humanity. eve fell, all of humanity fell. pure genius) so by carrying the marriage analogy, by showing our male love for women we bring god's love to the world. of course, as with all things, we need god an intricate part of such equation, but that's how it is. the song might have something to do with a girl, but no doubt (When in Doubt, get it? ahh, i kill myself sometimes) the lifting up of pain, trouble, the surrendering all is definately to God. Like "I'm Trading My Sorrows" a terrific song, though not by Thousand Foot Crutch.

Guys, the great thing about christian rock these days is that since the music isn't overtly christian, the music to many ppl can have many different meanings. Ie. pod, blindside and so on and so forth. I can see how this song could be about a girl, but i also so it could be about god, or christ and i can also see that this song could be about anybody that's helped you along your journey through life.

sorry mistake since most music christian rock now a days isn't overtly christian. THat's what is meant to say near the end of the first line and at the beginning of the second. Again my apologies.
