I just heard Ed perform this song the other night and he said it was in support of a woman undergoing chemotherapy and that it was to encourage her and remind her to put her faith in God and fight to live.
She's still around and healthy now.

@Demon_Punk I'm sure you are joking LOL you can't compare collective soul with slipknot.. two totally different types of talent. This song may be a bit soft, and not masculine., but every guy had that side to him. Don't pretend you don't.. to do so stunts emotional maturity, makes you oblivious to yourself (no insight), and in turn you become an asshole with a false ego designed merely to protect your sanity. Gotta love some psychology..

I'm not sure what you're talking about. If you're referring to the band slipknot, I dont think so. Its just Ed singing with drums and piano/synthesizer. I'm not even sure if there's a guitar part. It's very quiet and vocally oriented.
This is obviously an uplifting song, the kind that you sing to someone who's been through a rough patch or had their spirit broken. One of Collective Soul's most underrated songs.
@Soundtallica I agree, I believe Collective Soul all together is underrated. So many ppl know and even really like some of their songs, and somehow have no clue who they are.. It's not like haven't been successful though, I was just pretty much saying I don't get it LOL. As for the uplifting part, I'd say you're right. My actual sister was going through a hard time, I sent her that song, and I was surprised how much it cheered her up and how she reacted.
