Insomnia Lyrics

Reading magazines and counting sheep to pass the time away
Hoping that tomorrow's gonna bring a smile home again
Images of palm tree's swaying in the wind on South beach
Takes me back to better days,
Summer days the everglades in June
My brain, my poor brain
My brain, my poor brain
I'm drinking myself to sleep again,
Nightnurse pills to keep me sane
Drinking myself to sleep again, Insomnia
Flying high in golden skies, I'm flicking channels in my mind
Finding my utopia a different chapter in a book
Thinking back to younger days as I escape in Cooper's Break
It takes me back to 84 the future's knocking at my door
My brain, my poor brain
My brain, my poor brain
I'm drinking myself to sleep again,
Nightnurse pills to keep me sane
Drinking myself to sleep again, Insomnia
I'm drinking myself to sleep again,
Nightnurse pills to keep me sane
Drinking myself to sleep again, Insomnia
Turning off a switch inside me,
Leaving all the stress behind me Flying over streams and houses,
Passing over the Wye valley
It takes me back to 84 the future's knocking at my door
My brain, my poor brain
I'm drinking myself to sleep again,
Nightnurse pills to keep me sane
Drinking myself to sleep again, Insomnia
I'm drinking myself to sleep again,
Nightnurse pills to keep me sane
Drinking myself to sleep again, Insomnia
I'm drinking myself to sleep again,
Nightnurse pills to keep me sane
Drinking myself to sleep again, Insomnia.

Ok well all I can see really in this song is that it's about not being able to sleep. Something I can relate to alot at the moment.

Well Insomnia = 'Chronic inability to fall asleep or remain asleep for an adequate length of time.' Pretty simple.

I don't like the song THAT much, no, what I love about Insomnia is in teh video he's singing a really "wahhh poor me" song but he has this HUGE freaking grin plastered all over his face!

I LOVE THIS SONG!!! Okay, so it's not the greatest piece of musical genius the world has ever seen, it hasn't got some deep meaning...but this really is my favourite song ever. I saw Feeder at the NEC in March of this year, and I was so excited when they played Insomnia, I think I screamed half my chest across the hall! It really was awesome sigh :P

Obvious meaning...am i the only one who can't help but get up and dance around like an idiot?!!

Great Song.

This is the reason I love Feeder so much. They can write such obvious poppy songs, yet still retain their style.

I have a feeling it's slightly autobiographical somehow.

Yes, every one of us has been insomniac at some point, but I think the descriptions of 1984 and places in America hold a special meaning for whichever member of Feeder wrote this.

I also see it as being about reminiscence.
