Tangerine, turning green
Cellophane, window pane
Socialise, paralyed
Plastic faces suck me dry
[Prechorus:]
Tangerine, tangerine
Tangerine, tangerine
[Chorus:]
I know, it's sad
Life's just a piece of fruit
Touch down, new ground
Stop living on the moon
[Repeat chorus]
Twenty-eight, suffocate
Take a ride, see me fly
Detonate, feel it break
See myself disintegrate
[Prechorus]
[Chorus x2]
[Bridge:]
See it as I climb
The rains burns in my eyes
So catch me as I fall
Away...
[Prechorus]
[Chorus x2]
[Prechorus]
[Chorus x2]
I know it's sad
Cellophane, window pane
Socialise, paralyed
Plastic faces suck me dry
Tangerine, tangerine
Tangerine, tangerine
I know, it's sad
Life's just a piece of fruit
Touch down, new ground
Stop living on the moon
Take a ride, see me fly
Detonate, feel it break
See myself disintegrate
See it as I climb
The rains burns in my eyes
So catch me as I fall
Away...
I know it's sad

Meh?
This is the -only- feeder song ive heard and not loved.
Its like a scar on their otherwise flawless music.
This song is very good musically but yes lyrically just doesnt quite make it.
Grant wrote it as a tongue in cheek sort of song on Feeders situation when they were struggling to get noticed and seeing other bands like Skunk Anansie, Smashing Pumpkins just become so elevated in their music. Tangerine was obviously his way of explaining how he saw the band maybe compared to the other bands they were musically genered too. They were the tangerine, the fruit turning green, the off fruit amongst the lot.Possibly?
