Show it to me one way
I've gotta see it all
Scientific radar
Reaching through the storm
[Prechorus:]
There's gotta be hope
As people move on...and on
There's gotta be hope
We've gotta keep on believing
[Chorus:]
It's time to give it everything
A world unite, let us in
Hear me, hear me cry
Suffocate, let 'em die
A better life, say goodbye
But hear me, hear me cry
I see everything silver and gold
Way up, I'm reaching out
Clouds white as snow
[Prechorus:]
There's gotta be hope
As people move on, and on...and on
[Chorus]
Hear me cry...
Why don't you hear me?
Why don't they hear me?
Suffocate, let 'em die
A better life, say goodbye
But hear me, hear me cry
Give, give enough
I care
I've gotta see it all
Scientific radar
Reaching through the storm
There's gotta be hope
As people move on...and on
There's gotta be hope
We've gotta keep on believing
It's time to give it everything
A world unite, let us in
Hear me, hear me cry
Suffocate, let 'em die
A better life, say goodbye
But hear me, hear me cry
Way up, I'm reaching out
Clouds white as snow
There's gotta be hope
As people move on, and on...and on
Why don't you hear me?
Why don't they hear me?
Suffocate, let 'em die
A better life, say goodbye
But hear me, hear me cry
I care

This song is beautiful, Grant's song writing talent shows up pretty well in this song...... Live on Feeder, you're the greatest.....
brilliant, brilliant song, although ive just heard a complete different version on yahoo launch... The chourus begins with:
We'll breeeaaatheee again (dont suffocate) x 2
I think thats the version off the first pressing of Polythene. Thats weird though cause I'm listening to that exact version now.
the original was amazin
the original was amazin
no need to change it
no need to change it
I think the newer version was re-released prior to the release of YWTS. It can be found on the singles compilation.
The original polythene pressing version is a classic down-tempo, 3-piece song, but lacks the grunginess of the rest of the tracks on that album.
The new version has a decidedly "sythetic" sound to it. Much more slickly (and heavily) produced.
TBH, the new version is mountains better. This was my least favorite track off Polythene when I first heard the record (yes, I liked it even less than Tangerine). Now, it's way up the list.
