Feeder are terrific, extremely talented musicians. Grant has the ability to write very dreamy, introspective, and often ironic lyrics. I love the opening line.
I think what he's saying here is that no matter how much he fucks up, that one person can numb the pain (novocaine - anasthetic). She can always pick him up when he 'crashes down'.
