i think it means love hurts, it burns, but that's ok. you make sacrifices. you deal with that and accept it. passion burns, like a flame. the man is saying he doesnt want a casual relationship. he wants a firey burnng hot love, regaurdless of the pain. and if you dont wanna burn, just walk on by and step outta his light.

"Devil's Plaything" is awesome. I think it's about love honestly. Sounds to me like a Danzig love song.
First it s Devils Plaything, and second this song to me sounds more like a love heart break song than a love song, i don't know, it just does to me

Im not sure what this song s about but i think the"If you don't want a fire Step out of my light" and "If you don't wanna burn Just walk on by." parts mean something like: You can love me the way i am and if you dont like that, then just walk on by..
It's about Temptation. Danzig singing as a demon offering "flames", power or whatnot... Also I'm pretty sure it's "God of light shines on me" not "got a light" but it's hard to tell from the recording.. does it say that in the CD jacket?
I was pretty sure it is god of light because in Danzig's previous band Samhain, in the song archangel, he sings "the god of light will show no fear."
