Sometimes I can't help but worship you
I love you and all the things that you do
I thought I'd sit and write this song just for you
To let you know that I am thinking of you
When I come home so cold at night
You'll have the fireplace burning bright
Thoughts of how it's going to be
And how I'll spend those cold, cold nights
Warmed by you
And in these autumn days I wander through the leaves
Thinking of those winter nights I'll spend with you
I love you and all the things that you do
I thought I'd sit and write this song just for you
To let you know that I am thinking of you
You'll have the fireplace burning bright
Thoughts of how it's going to be
And how I'll spend those cold, cold nights
Warmed by you
Thinking of those winter nights I'll spend with you

I think this is the only song being sung by Jody Stephens in Third and its probably the least depressing song in it (except for maybe Jesus Christ). Its very calm and yet there is a sense of romance that has been either absent or denied by the rest of the Chilton songs.
I can't believe I just discovered this song. It is so hauntingly beautiful. The strings, the breathy vocals, not to mention those lyrics. So sweet.
Jody was the first to bring in strings for his song. Then Alex liked it so much he decided to use them on more songs for Third. I think Jody should havwe written some more songs. The simple lyrics express the affection couples share that is rarely present in other songs. Like the way my wife has my favorite food and snacks waiting for me after I've been on the road along time. The strings come in at the perfect time at the high point of "warmed by you". It predates many rock songs that use a similar effect....
