well im not a huge alicia fan..but i heard this song, and it totally encouraged me with my situation... "cause i'd be crazy to let my man go, and let some other jane doe come in try to steal him.." this line really stood out to me. i feel like it told me, "amber, if you really love danny what are you doin lettin that dumb broad try to take him from you?" and to think she almost had him....uh uh..thanks alicia i think i'll go get my man back.
just to give you an idea of how awesome this song is... i was determined to dump my bf of 6 months when my sis started playing this album nonstop in the car. this song convinced me not to- until it was over, then i dropped his sorry ass. lol.
Yeah this is definetely another one of those all-too-common love predicaments that we girls constantly find ourselves in the middle of. All I gotta say is dont let nobody take your man, but dont be a fool and fight over him, cuz he very well may be playing ya ass. This song is so like Jill Scott's "Gettin in da way". Both songs have the same meaning. And that is, it is about another girl (more likely an ex of your boyfriend) who tries to convince you that he is not over her, while at the same time, tries to win him back again. And basically, obviously, the songs display words that you would definitely be saying if that happened to you; tryin to pick a damn good fight with her to keep your man. I love songs with these comebacks! =D
Oh, I am soooooooooo feeling this song. Sht's been happening this weekend with my boyfriend's ex winding me up by saying things to him. Her best friend has also got involved and it's like, seriously get a life! As if he's going to take your side over me!
