First off, bad ASS song, but hey, we all know that :3 Personally i think it's a mix "Living risky, never scared, wander closer to the edge nothing valued think no fear, always wondering why you’re here all your purposes are gone, nothing’s right and nothing’s wrong, nothing ventured nothing gained, feel no sorrow, feel no pain." Basically he lives life on the edge, he can't find a reason to live, he has nothing to fear because nothings valued, and he's always wondering why we are here. He sees that good and evil are just figments of our mind, and that what you don't go to get isn't getting you anywhere. I'll update as i learn more :-/

i think this song is bout a guy who lives his life on the edge never really takes much caution and doesnt live in fear like oh if i do this this will happen or if i say that this one might fight with me etc.etc.its bout not caren and being free.and "KISS ME WHILE im still alive kill me while i kiss the sky"is kinda like kiss me while im still here and kill me while my dreams come true like kill my while i live my live my way doing what i want.

this song is very awsome.. i think this song is bout a man that lives by his terms.. no matter wat the cost .. and no matter who it hurts... and he damns the day.. coz it use to be HIS life.. now it is not in his control any longer.

To me, this song is about finding a meaning to live. It sounds like he feels he's just going through the motions and looking for a purpose. Although he's not fearing life, he doesn't feel alive. He doesn't know what to believe in. He doesn't want to conform to what everyone holds true and wants to stay true to himself, but doesn't exactly see a point. It's optimistic and pessimistic at the same time.

i think its abuot living life on the edge, and hes losing control of life. it has a dark edge to it and the guitar suits the lyrics very well, theres also a sense of desperation in the chorus... brilliantly written song

This is my favorite song from Three Doors Down. I agree with most of the sentiment that has been described above, but also read some Hendrix in the lyrics.

" Kiss me while Im still alive Kill me while I kiss the sky" - from Purple Haze "Scuze me while I Kiss the Sky"... I see a connection between the life and death of Hendrix and his lifestyle that is simular to this songs lyrics and that chorus...

It may be a stretch but its a connection from my point of view...

This is the kind of song a soldier could have written. His life is not his own, he's under orders, and feels morally obliged to a higher purpose: "Freedom carries sacrifice, remember when this was my life"

Would be a good song to have blaring from your Personnel Carrier's speakers when making enemy contact. Lock and load.

I think it's about being in the military ("Freedom carries sacrifice"), and the fact that you may die from anything that that life may throw at you (murder, rape, disease, et al) and post traumatic stress syndrome after you leave the military ("Remember when this was my life"). It can also apply to when someone from the military leaves it to join the civilian life.
