Pretty simple.... I think It's about being left, and feeling alone. I have no idea why he uses "fourteenth floor" in the song though.

maybe this sounds dumb but the fourteenth floor could actually be the 13th as they usually skip that number due to the superstition......

yeah. this is a pretty obvious song. its about how she commits suicide. "used the window instead of the door". to leave she used the window ie. jumped from it. 14 floor cuz its high enough to die from. "kind of a long way down"-its high up. yeah
