Kiss Me On The Bus Lyrics
On the bus, that's where we're ridin'
On the bus, O.K., don't say hi, then
Your tongue, your transfer,
your hand, your answer
On the bus, everyone's lookin' for it
On the bus, I am lookin' for it
And everything ain't O.K.
I might die before Monday (I might drive home one day?)
They're all watchin' us
Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus
If you knew how I felt now
You wouldn't act so adult now
Hurry, hurry, here comes my stop
On the bus, watch our reflection
On the bus, I can't stand no rejection
C'mon, let's make a scene
Oh, baby, don't be so mean
They're all watchin' us
Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus
If you knew how I felt now
You wouldn't act so adult now
Hurry, hurry, here comes my stop
If you knew how I felt now
You wouldn't act so adult now
They're all watchin' us
Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus
On the bus, O.K., don't say hi, then
Your tongue, your transfer,
your hand, your answer
On the bus, I am lookin' for it
And everything ain't O.K.
I might die before Monday (I might drive home one day?)
They're all watchin' us
Kiss me on the bus
If you knew how I felt now
You wouldn't act so adult now
Hurry, hurry, here comes my stop
On the bus, I can't stand no rejection
C'mon, let's make a scene
Oh, baby, don't be so mean
They're all watchin' us
Kiss me on the bus
Kiss me on the bus
If you knew how I felt now
You wouldn't act so adult now
Hurry, hurry, here comes my stop
You wouldn't act so adult now
They're all watchin' us
Kiss me on the bus

should be: On the bus, everyone's lookin' forward On the bus, I am lookin' forward
my favorite line - he's lookin' forward literally, as well as lookin' forward to kissing her on the bus. Her reply: "thanks, the lips'll be fine" harhar.
the greatest song ever written about public transportation..I live in Minneapolis and ride the MTC all the time...
To me Paul sounds really freakin desperate in this song. It's not just that he sees this girl on the bus and thinks she's attractive. "I might die 'fore Monday" makes me think that if she doesn't pay him some attention he might go home and hang himself over the weekend or something.
Or step out onto a ledge.
Or step out onto a ledge.
Is this really the same band who sang "Gary's Got a Boner"?
...or when you're 26 years old.
I dunno, I'm getting a real high school vibe from this. You know, freshman/sophomore year before you "might drive home one day." Hah.
(And I'm only saying this because it actually applied to me... Oh, nostalgia.)
I always thought it was: "I ain't lookin' forwar", as he is looking at the girl.
me too

Maybe it's about a guy who takes a road trip to the big city with his girlfriend and he's playing around with her...just wanting some attention. I'm guessing that's it :)
I think it was just trying to be a little goofy. He askes her to kiss him, she said something to effect of "No, but I'm sure you'll be ok." Perhaps not goofy, but kinda of witty but obnoxious. Anyway, I think it's a pretty cute song. I'm impressed they managed to make it work. Though I was thinking it would be more about elementary school kids just from the title.
I think it's a more subtle tongue-in-cheek expression of the Peter Pan syndrome that is so prevalent in other 'Mats songs; it's about the kind of things that seem sooo important when you're 13 years old.
