Hell Looks a Lot Like L.A. Lyrics

He got in his car and told himself to drive gotta leave it all behind if he wants to feel alive. 19 and lost never thought he'd ever leave this place. Vacant mind from endless grind so what's to lose anyways. Another fast food job? Another 8 to 5?

Ten minute and two miles is just too many today and you can see why it's easy to say y'know that hell looks a lot like L.A.

Six months ago was the last she felt alive moved down from the north and told herself she'd try. 18 and lost and thought this place could change, ignored and bored the same feelings as yesterday. She said it's way too much more than she could take.

It's one less car that's in the way y'know that hell looks a lot like L.A.

I think it's about how loads of songs glamourise teenagers running away from home and stuff, but it's not always such a smart idea in reality

The key is in the movie speech before song. The preceding line is " Sometimes in life, we are given a choice between being a slave in Heaven or a star in Hell." This is reminiscent of Milton's Paradise Lost Bk II line 268 "Heav'n resembles Hell", and "Tis better to reign in hell, than serve in heaven" (this is, however ironic in Milton), as the speech bfore the song maks the lines preceding it. It's abotu the false promise, and emonic appeal. hahahaha!

never been to LA but from what i have herd and red the i agree that it looks like a pretty decieiving and corrupt place. once again LTJ pull out another fucking amazing ska/punk tune

jeez this was a fucking easy one, yet still no posts on the real meaning, damn, just listen, its about the fucking traffic in LA, i havnt been to LA, but i just substitute LA with MIAmi lol and it seems about right, i moved form my boring town down to miami, but its not perfect here either, 10 minutes and 2 miles, do all you teenagers know how fucking annoying that is? You will when you finally get to drive...

Wow.. officially the worst comment ever by cannabutr saying "ALL YOU TEENAGERS" on a LTJ page? Um... LTJ is all about teenage angst, hating the town your from, and getting caught up in the nothingness of living in a city that traps you in. Not at all about traffic.. at all... at all... ever.

If it's about the traffic, how come it's called "Hell looks a lot like LA" instead of "Hell Looks a lot like the road to LA" or something?

Cover art for Hell Looks a Lot Like L.A. lyrics by Less Than Jake

yeah im gonna take a stab at this and say its not about the LA traffic. Its about how hyped up california and LA are when in reality its shit. the people are shit everythings shit.. i should know i live less than 45 min from there.. remember kids.. california is over rated

This song is definately not about the LA traffic!!

Its about how people leave home and go to LA for the lifestyle and to try and make it big there because they think it will be better than their home town. Its turns out that its not as good as they thought and they should have just stayed at home.

The last line "Its one less car thats in the way" is when they raelise that LA is shit and leave.
