All Outta Angst Lyrics
I'm not insane, I'm not bummed out
I got no one to blame, nothing to change
I got no evil to fight
One thing's for sure, I'm all Outta angst
Society don't bother me
And there's something wrong with that
So I'm off to Pakistan, learn the laws of Islam
And fundamentalism, forget that rock 'n' roll
No cigarette, no drink, in fact
It's difficult to think about getting laid
When you don't even get to see her face
I'm not insane
I'm not insane, i'm not liquored up
I got nothin' to do, nothin' to lose
I got no place to call home
One thing's for sure, I'm all outta angst
Society don't bother me and there's something wrong with that
Next step Mongolia
Don't get to golf or fuck or bowl with 'ya
Throw out that handicap
No stepping out, till spring, in fact it's
Difficult to sing when it's 20 below
And that's during the day
I'm not insane
I got no one to blame, nothing to change
I got no evil to fight
Society don't bother me
And there's something wrong with that
And fundamentalism, forget that rock 'n' roll
No cigarette, no drink, in fact
It's difficult to think about getting laid
When you don't even get to see her face
I'm not insane
I got nothin' to do, nothin' to lose
I got no place to call home
One thing's for sure, I'm all outta angst
Society don't bother me and there's something wrong with that
Don't get to golf or fuck or bowl with 'ya
Throw out that handicap
No stepping out, till spring, in fact it's
Difficult to sing when it's 20 below
And that's during the day
I'm not insane

damn drkshadow03 I'm always replying to the things you say bout nofx. Truthfully I wish this song was about what you are saying it is about. Unfortunately I think fat mike is much more pro-u.s.a. than you think. I think this song is about him just thinking that the u.s. is fine for once and and now he is a punk rocker and has nothing to complain about. So he is planning on moving to pakistan or mongolia so he can get himself some angst and have something to complain about. What do ya think?
look. its my song.
Sorry guys, I think you've missed it. For a while some of the guys in nofx where straight edge. Whether they're making fun of it or just remembering being edge this song is actually a remake (not a cover) of "Out of Step" by Minor Threat in the early 1980's.
There are several obvious clues to this. First, compare "I'm all outta angts. Society don't bother me" to "I can't keep up. Out of step with the world." Next compare "no cigarette, no drink. In fact it's difficult to think about getting laid...." to "(I) don't smoke, don't drink, don't fuck" Lastly, during part of the song by Minor Threat, lead singer Ian MacKaye comments "These three things, that are so important in the world. I don't see much importance in them whether it be fucking or playing golf." Fat Mike changed this to "don't get to golf, or fuck, or bowl with ya." The original song is about being sick of the self destructive North American soceity, perhaps explaining why Fat Mik refers to two completely different areas of the world where life would be so different (better?).
Anyways, I'm pretty sure that's what this song is about.
OBVIOUSLY this song is about being pregnant.
yep.l
I with Rainy, the song's about how the thing's that get complained about in North America are in a totally different league than other countries (He only used Pakistan and Mongolia as examples, there's oodles more that he could've picked from). You thnk life is tough in the USA? Try these places...
This is the first time Fat Mike writes a song not so much about the USA government. In this song I think he is saying, "Wow there is so many problems in the rest of the world." I don't have it in me anymore to rant and complain about the USA government. And then he goes on to sing about what he doesn't like about what is going on in Pakistan and Mongolia.
...hence the line "society (u.s.a) don't bother me and there's something wrong with that" because hes a punk rocker and punk rockers are always bitching about the u.s. but he is saying that he likes it for once and has no more things to complain about. It is so typical of fat mike to break the punk stereotype of always being pissed off.
yes exactly rainydayboy, i agree with your last comment about mike breaking the punk stereotype completely, what a good insight! you are brilliant! you should win a nobel peace prize! and so handsome!!!
this is an awesome song. to me it reminds me of the time when all my worst enemies apologized and tried to befriend me in the span of like a week. it was too hard too keep hating them when they were being nice. all i could think of was that i was all outta angst.
ok rainydayboy...in your first reply you are agreeing with drkshadow...do you not realize that?
